Appendix alt, micro knight of three inches.
The legendary kingdom of Praetorium, a city said to be gilded in wealth and fame. Perched in a defensible location overlooking the sea, protected to its back by a sheer cliff and to its front by walls as tall as ten men, the city has since grown to encompass much of the surrounding mountain. At the base of the mountain, a naval dockyard juts out into the sea. A lighthouse sits atop a weather worn rock, lit by magic. The dock enters steel doors, into the storage bay and one office of the merchant’s guild. The navy barracks are also located here. Up through a network of tunnels, below lay deep, deep mines for precious and strategic metals, the dungeon and poor quarters are found. Small, barred windows litter the mountain side, with metal shutters to be closed in emergencies. Opening upon the top of the wide plateau, gently rolling down towards the ground, where massive walls separate the city-state from the rest of the world, are many entrances to different districts.
A massive lake rests upon the edge of the plateau, one verdant path curving down the slope beneath the rocky basin. A waterfall spills over the edge, filling a smaller pool that fuels a river to wind down towards the walls, exiting through a barred porthole. A brilliant, white marble road enters through the gilded gateway, steel covered in silver and rimmed with gold. The alabaster walls are kept ever seamless and clean. The territory nearest is most arable farmland. The path splits towards the inner mountain, while another winds under the waterfall in order to twist up towards the platform atop. Lined by magic lanterns, and dotted with farmhouses, the land provides a scenic view from the top.
The top presents the gates to the city proper. Spilling out into a bustling market district, houses carved from the same marble as the surrounding walls, roofs angled and home to ceramic tiles of blue shades, the residential district is set up in tiers. The first tier is reserved for shops, as well as the industrial sector for the fabrication of goods. The second tier harbors the middle class, as well as the inns and restaurants. The third tier is for the rich, as well as the Academia Virtus, a grand cathedral for the training of the holy. The final tier is for the castle. All tiers cascade downwards, in semicircles between the two main walls. The castle grounds are home to the Academia Impetus, for the general armor, as well as the general barracks, and the Academia Magus for the arcane.
The castle overlooks the ocean, effectively bleeding into the walls and rising over them with many spires. Blue roofs are topped with the pennants to the royal family (WIP).
Despite all of this, the average size of the residents is three inches tall. Their mountain home is but six feet tall, and some four hundred square feet in area. Their crops are various berries, growing in vines over their land. They actually exist on a small peninsula outside some foreign lands. Other micro kingdoms exist along the coast lines, in an archipelago based microcosm as yet untouched by the expanse of normal sized humans. A closed environment that mirrors closely the surrounding world. Visucia is but one citizen of the kingdom, born into faith and serves as a holy maiden of battle. Gifted in divine arts as well as combat, she is destined to defend her people from any threat.
Her mother a priestess and her father a captain of the guard, she could not choose between the two fates that potentially awaited her. Born beneath a noble star, she is awash with physical stamina and mana reserves. Her nation employs arms that are charged by their wearer’s magical power. A symbol of status, Visucia wears armor adorned with blue apatite, a gem with a strong affinity for divine magic. Due to the magical presence of her armor, she can move with surprisingly agility while wearing it.
As a person, Visucia is benevolent towards her own people. However, given her status, this comes off as a bit condescending at times. To outsiders, she is suspicious. Chaste for the sake of her faith, she is notably naïve about love, though she dreams of having a family one day. Her ambition is to bring pride to her parents, and she hopes to one day slay a serpent. For now, she will settle for slaying arachnids and their ilk. Often accompanying expeditions to the greater continent, she marvels at the size and scale of the wooden pillars and their high, green canopies. More than that, the existence of eerie, large scale stone and wooden structures often makes her wonder if titans once roamed the world.
