Pokemon Report By Professor Wormwood

Sceptile (the Forest Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Grass-type Pokémon found among forested areas in the Hoenn region, portions of South American jungles and the Alola region on rare occasions. Although they might not have the sheer defensive abilities and energy needed to take many blows in battle, Sceptile are nonetheless vicious fighters that can easily defeat foes with amazing speed and agility. They might not bring the greatest offense to every battle, but they can definitely run circles around (and on top of) any opponent they face; just make sure not to get on their bad side, or you'll quickly find out just how painful their Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm attacks can truly be!

Grovyle are at the complete mercy of the parasitic plant living in them until they finally evolve; at that point, however, the roles essentially become reversed. Upon evolution, their bodies completely mature and take over the parasitic plant; in doing so, the plant itself fully matures and becomes even more integrated into its host, completing both life forms instantaneously. Although they retain some of the plant's leaves on their arms (which become nearly as sharp as swords as a result of full anatomical integration), Sceptile lose the leaves on their head and tail regions, their head crest returns, and they grow a new digit on each limb, bringing the number back up to three. However, this also causes their blood temperature to become more erratic in its fluctuations, so these beasts have to bask in the sun regularly in order to regulate their blood temperature. In addition, Sceptile lose the ability to utilize the Fury Cutter attack upon evolution, but are more than benefited by the addition of the Dual Chop and Night Slash attacks to their move repertoire after evolving, the former immediately afterwards.

In addition, two other notable mutations occur within the anatomy of Sceptile upon evolution: The development of a tail and seed pods. In their previous evolutions, Sceptile were unable to grow tails because of complications resulting from the parasitic plant; upon obtaining full control of the plant, however, Sceptile are finally able to grow a tail…with one unique twist: Their tail also ends up serving as the trunk for the parasitic plant's matured form. The positioning of this new tail provides an excellent counterbalance for an adult Sceptile's body, allowing it to easily rest on its hind legs and walk about in a bipedal fashion. Secondly, the backs of Sceptile become the bearing place of seed pods; as one could probably guess, these seeds also belong to the parasitic plant. However, anatomical integration has rendered the seeds infertile and therefore dead; nonetheless, they are still packed with nutrients. The seeds are easily broken and their nutrients can quickly be absorbed through water, making them perfect for fertilizing trees and plants of all types. This doesn't seem to be a coincidence as Sceptile are important caregivers for plants in their domain, taking care of each and every plant that they see in a loving fashion; it is possible that Sceptile alter the seed's production process for this reason alone. Despite their increased size, Sceptile are still relatively lightweight in comparison to similar-sized opponents and possess even greater agility than Grovyle. Sceptile are without peer in traditional 'jungle warfare' and are almost unchallengeable in the forests of the Hoenn region; their incredible agility allows them to easily leap from tree to tree in pursuit of prey and further enjoy leaping on and off the heads of their opponents as a distraction. Sceptile even possess a Leaf Blade attack that is strong enough to slice through thick trees, so armor is rarely an issue when in close-quarters combat and hiding from them in their natural habitat is all but impossible.

It is lastly noted that Sceptile is one of only 46 species of Pokémon known to be capable of undergoing Mega Evolution. Triggered by the presence of a held Sceptilite, Mega Evolution serves to bring out the draconic nature of Sceptile to the forefront and in turn fully demonstrates their phylogenetic relationship with the rest of the reptile world. It has been widely accepted that Sceptile have the genes within their body necessary to be a Dragon-type, but they are pretty much inactive with a few bits here in there enabling them to learn moves like Dragon Claw and Dual Chop; as Mega Sceptile, however, these creatures gain full access to these powers and are rightfully classified as Grass/Dragon-types. Aside from the increase in size and bulk that Mega Evolution brings, the most unique feature of these creatures is their tail, which has effectively converted into a personal weapon system and generator. At the base of Mega Sceptile’s tail, there is an organic dynamo that constantly generates energy by pulling electrical energy out of the surrounding airspace much as an Electric-type would, converting it into thermal energy for accelerating their bodily movements and special powers. In addition, there is an explosive capsule father up along the tail right before the foliage-riddled section that can be detonated with an electrical charge. In battle, Sceptile will use this to their advantage by pointing their tails, which now possess a sharp point and thicker foliage than normal, at a target and detonating this capsule forcefully, effectively blasting off their tail as a large projectile capable of dealing massive damage to any target that it hits (though the overall blow is still not strong enough to penetrate extremely thick armor in most cases). In terms of stats, the increase in power and addition of a bioelectric dynamo in their tail has the effect of slightly increasing Mega Sceptile’s base Defense stat, moderately increasing their base Speed stat, considerably increasing their base Attack stat and critically increasing their base Special Attack stat; in turn, they gain the highest base Special Attack and Speed stats and base stat total out of all Grass-type Pokémon and the highest base Speed stat out of all Dragon-type Pokémon. In addition, because their tails are now effectively dynamos that feed on electrical energy in the atmosphere, these creatures are able to attract and absorb large quantities of electricity in order to fuel their own metabolic reactions, in turn granting them the Lightning Rod Ability and in turn making them a powerful partner to use in battle when paired with other Pokémon that are otherwise weak against Electric-type attacks.

Although they might not be the strongest physical fighters, Sceptile are still incredibly dangerous in regards to their incredible agility and their razor-sharp leaves. With the highest base Speed stat out of all non-legendary Grass-type Pokémon and a wicked selection of powerful attacks at their disposal, Sceptile are dangerous foes that can easily take even the sturdiest of foes around the bend a few times. If you have to battle a Sceptile, try not to use any Pokémon that don't have armor or are otherwise too slow to land a decent blow; without protection and agility, there's little stopping a Sceptile from dodging every strike that comes their way and slicing any and all opponents to ribbons!

Trivia
- Verde Like most of his kind call deep forests home and can navigate the forest with great ease.
- Despite being larger than most Sceptile Verde moves with the improved Grace and Stealth than normal Sceptile.
- When not training or hunting Verde can normally be found sleeping in a tree.
- When Stalking its prey reports have said they started to smell something akin to Mint just before Verde strikes. Though not many have come back with proof about this claim so it remains mostly unknown.
- Verde can use a variety of different attacks to take down his foe. But its favorite way is to drain the prey of the will to fight using attacks such as Leech Seed and Giga Drain before moving in to consume its prey when they are too weak to fight back.
- Verde is well versed in a few different kinds of vore and enjoys devouring prey whole before retreating back to the trees to enjoy its meals.
