Pokemon Report (By Professor Wormwood) (FYI Check out https://www.deviantart.com/mutitus for more of these reports they are really good and well thought out)
Blastoise (the Shellfish Pokémon) is an exceptionally rare Water-type Pokémon found in ponds, lakes and sea Routes near and within the Kanto region as well as the Alola region on rare occasions. Renowned for the impressive water cannons mounted onto their backs, Blastoise are powerful creatures that can easily blast and crush opponents both on and above the ground. No matter how powerful you think you might be, don't dare underestimate these titans when they enter the battlefield; they might not be very fast, but when the chips are down, you can definitely rely on these heavyweights to keep on trucking through just about everything!
Perhaps as a way of increasing the amount of water they can fire at an opponent for offensive purposes, Wartortle completely change anatomically upon evolving. Instead of using their throats to launch attacks, Blastoise utilize a pair or organic, metallic tubes directly rooted in their backs; the original purpose of these 'cannons' is still unknown, but the benefit that they offer is more than obvious. Because these objects are not directly connected to or near the soft tissue of Blastoise's respiratory system, they can pump water through them at exceptionally high speeds without the threat of internal damage, allowing them to easily exceed the shooting capabilities of almost all other Water-types. At full force, these pressurized cannons can spew water with enough force and velocity to punch through thick steel plates like crackers, making even armored opponents vulnerable to extreme damage; it therefore comes as no surprise that Blastoise possess the most damaging Hydro Pump attack out of all Pokémon. Furthermore, because Blastoise can rotate these cannons at will, they are capable of striking targets with extreme accuracy and precision at distances that would otherwise be deemed magical by those unfamiliar with their anatomy. These cannons offer Blastoise one final benefit, which is wholly unrelated to their initial function: They make Blastoise the only Water-type Pokémon capable of naturally learning the powerful Flash Cannon attack, a feature that makes them more than a bit dangerous against Ice-types in battle.
However, in order to make the most of their new powers, Blastoise have to put up with one major obstacle: a massive increase in weight. Blastoise are notably heavier than Wartortle because they need the extra weight to handle the recoil generated from their jets, and even this isn't quite enough to overcome the force of their own power, as Blastoise must also have both feet firmly planted on the ground to keep themselves from being tipped over by the recoil. This has relatively little effect on their swimming speed, however, so Blastoise are usually willing to put up with this issue. In fact, most Blastoise learn to take advantage of their massive weight in battle, crushing smaller opponents into dust by simply flopping on top of them. If Blastoise cannot strike or defeat an opponent with their cannons, they will even tuck their limbs in and use their jets as propellers to blast their entire body at the opposition in the form of a projectile. Lastly and perhaps most importantly, this increase in weight means that Blastoise can utilize many powerful TMs that Wartortle cannot, such as the Earthquake and Bulldoze TMs, that can easily make them a serious threat against a wide variety of opponents.
It is lastly noted that Blastoise is one of only 46 species of Pokémon known to be capable of undergoing Mega Evolution. With a Blastoisinite in hand, Mega Evolution radically mutates these creatures and forces the twin organic, cannon-like structures they use to launch their attacks to fuse together into a single, massive cannon, while they develop an additional pair of smaller cannons on each of their upper limbs. In this form, Mega Blastoise undergo a massive increase to their offensive abilities and strength, but their overall demeanor does not change much, making them surprisingly easy to control. The mutant cannon that now sits on the back of these creatures combines the power it had originally in both separate cannons, creating a weapon that can accurately direct and blast a projectile with enough force to hit a target as far as six miles away, an impressive feat for any sharpshooter. In terms of stats, this alteration to their natural physical form has the effect of slightly increasing Mega Blastoise’s base Special Defense stat, moderately increasing their base Attack and Defense stats, and astronomically increasing their base Special Attack stat. In addition, the combination of two normal cannons and one super cannon enables them to focus and deliver strikes with pulse-based attacks with such force and vigor that it essentially grants them the Mega Launcher Ability. Mega Blastoise may not be any faster than their normal form, but they are nonetheless imposing beasts that have the defenses and offenses needed to literally destroy anything and everything that gets in their way, making them valuable partners to stand behind in any fight.
Immensely powerful and dangerous in battle, Blastoise are wicked beasts that can often hose down the competition before a fight even gets interesting. With the highest base Special Defense stat out of all starter Pokémon and the strongest Hydro Pump attack out of all known Water-type Pokémon, you can bet these titans will make a great addition to any well-rounded team. Water-type specialists look alive, because these turtles are destined to steal the show; they might not have many bells and whistles to them, but when it comes to holding down the fort, few other Water-types can take and give damage as well as these reptiles!
