Tsubaki_and_Sumire

ZergAlts fan character(s) from the CAVE side-scrolling shooter, Akai Katana. Tsubaki Shinjo is the one on the right and Sumire Asaka is the one on the left. And note that Tsubaki is a woman. Awwww yeeeaaaah. = v=

Akai Katana is set in a parallel world resembling Japan's Taisho period, where the people have discovered the powerful Blood Swords, the titular Akai Katana. Requiring human sacrifices to unleash their immense destructive power, these swords have been used by the empire to crush neighbouring countries. However, all the bloodshed and power gained through sacrificing close family members and friends has made some of the swordsmen reconsider. With new fighter planes and the powered up swords at their disposal, this small band of rebels now fight back against the tyrannical empire. Tsubaki and Sumire are two such rebels against the empire's Ten Suns, having been members themselves.

The reason for Tsubaki's being a reverse trap is to atone for her actions as one of the Ten Suns, having cut her hair and posing as a man. That's... pretty impressive, since she even appears to have the figure of one. And... perhaps the appeal of one, given that Sumire, in their ending of the game--er... perhaps I'll leave that for players to find out for themselves. But yeah, the les yay is definitely there, and I'm building upon that. XD

In-game, Tsubaki and Sumire make up the Type 1/A player, the Marigold fighter plane. Their shots are strong and simply go forward. All three players have access to a "Phantom", which in this context means to say "giant flying ninja." This is Sumire's chance to shine, whereas Tsubaki is the one flying the plane itself. How tall is the typical Phantom? They're usually about a typical Mobile Suit Gundam, which is average 50 feet or so. Yeah, that's a lot of foot soldiers getting nosebleeds when Sumire passes by.

And now, for Tsubaki pre-haircut.
