You know.... there's always been one or two strange folks in every school. I don't think, though, that there's ever been someone quite so physically strange as Travin Lenais. Because, really... the guy is VERY unusual, in a world full of humans. Well, mostly humans.

And, ehe, mostly humans. Such as Travin, for example. He' not human, or not completely, that much is clear. He is what is known, in this world, as an amalgam. A sort of mutation, brought on by background radiation and, yes, magic, he's best described as a naturally occurring fusion of species, akin to a chimera. What, exactly, each one is made up of, is sometimes hard to tell. it is somewhat telling that only human amalgams have been discovered, though.

It's not quite certain what all went into him. Some of the species in him are easily identified, of course, especially thanks to his ears, but others? Ehhh, not so much. A theory that has gained strength recently is that amalgams also contain activated DNA from earlier human evolutions, or have just mutated a bit. Regardless....

Travin has a few different species in his genetic makeup that are obvious. His ears are clearly those of a fox, perched up on top of his head. They match his hair perfectly, a coppery red shade that's actually pretty close to the color of a red fox's fur, kept close-cut, never allowed to be more than two inches long. His skin is fair, perhaps slightly tanned, with a freckle here and there, and his body seems to have a sort of feline sleekness and grace. Just above his butt, there's a thick, reptilian tail, covered in small, pebbly scales, with an odd opening at the tip. it is prehensile, to a degree, but it also functions on instinct, giving him superb balance. He goes barefoot, as well, if he can help it, and tends to wear his shoes loosely so he can kick them off at a moment's notice. His other clothes tend to be whatever uniform his school has assigned the students, or a pair of comfortable jeans and a simple shirt. His attire doesn't seem to change, even in winter, oddly enough.

The full extent of his abilities is unknown, but... well, there are rumors. But when aren't there?
