Thumbelina is, of course, a tiny girl who emerged from a barleycorn's flower after it was planted, meant to be a daughter for a childless woman. However, her small size can cause..problems, as most boys are too big for her, and other problems could happen, like almost being baked into a pie by accident, or various things trying to eat or carry her off to be their bride.
