Sir Elliot Graves, the day before Martin Walsh met his untimely death, swore his utter fealty to his venerable king and all of his own who came after. To his dying day, to his last breath, he would uphold the honor of the Walsh line.

To this very day, that vow has been kept up. Although...the "honor" portion got lost in translation when switching hands from Martin to Edward. What took it's place was behavior that much resembled the new king. What once was a chivalrous man slowly turned into a gluttonous and violent one. But...why, exactly?

A number of circumstances lead to that, but the main one was simple; to protect the kingdom and the royal line he swore to. He took up the job when circumstances were different, and changing times and changing rulers forced him to adapt. Citizens became increasingly disobedient and - almost twice as much - increasingly violent as the successor to such a king fully used and abused his position.

The king in question, Edward S. Walsh, was draining towns of their resources, cities of their people, and people of their money. Nearly everyone outside of the royal family utterly despised him, and those who didn't...well, they met a bit of a curious fate at his hands. Overall, the king was nothing like his father was, in terms of ruling.

As an...excessive response, Elliot - and by extension, the forces he lead - got even more violent than the citizens to compensate. If even a single person seemed like a threat to the king, they weren't spared. Most of them who fell to the knight's hand didn't even get a grave or funeral.

All they got was death, death for even thinking to think against a tyrant.

It was clear to anybody who had the courage to tell the tale, or even knew the tale at all, that Elliot had taken note from the king in his handling of the dissapproving commoners.

Elliot had also taken note from the king in much more than policy. He became more indulgent, looser, far crueler...and overall, something that barely resembled the man he was mere years before.

He went from the land's protector, to the enforcer.

Yet, not quite. When any foreign threat looms, it's Elliot that's right there on the frontline...and it's Elliot that usually eats very well on said frontline. His methods have proven effective, when looking at it from the Walsh's standpoint, or at least Edward's. From any outside perspective?

The forest certainly has quite a few trees.
