The Monster Within
Legend has told of a being that had become the bane of a group known as the Hunters of the Light, a group of varying people who hunted down the dark supernatural things that lived in our world, making sure they could no longer do harm to any of those living or dead. This bane of the group was known as The Leech, a monstrous being that fed on fear and Life-force, a beings soul as others would call it.
It started with strange deaths, people killing themselves in unique ways, each different from the last, the people who knew them claiming they held no fear of anything and went into everything as if the entire world was their's for the taking... The Hunters of the Light originally thought it was simply some strange curse, until one victim was found with their Life-force drained completely, what was left merely a husk without sentience. Soon they began hunting the monster they deemed The Leech, but, before long, it was realized they had become the hunted instead of the hunters. Each member dieing in a different way from the others... But now only a few members remain, having protected themselves and their decendants... And the monster still roams the lands, searching for its next meal.
And the creature has once again escaped from its most recent captors, and is upon the world once more
