TheLarkVolume

Just a few miles from Nexus, there's an old industrial area time forgot. It looks as though it was built in the early 1900's and hasn't seen much improvement. In fact, the youngest modification to the yard was made in 1975.

Papers are scattered around the grounds, but none have any writing on them. In fact, any paper left there will become blank the second you look away. There's no writing anywhere, not even letters. It's easy to become lost as any symbols seem to lose their shape and lines become bent and run as if they've had water sprinkled on them. Maps curve and twist, growing less like what they should be until they turn into grids.

It's OK though, this place is a dead-end now. There's no way you'll wind up going through it but every once in a while, if you make a wrong turn, you might find yourself there. Once you stumble past the open gates and see the scattered brick that was once the front wall, you'll be on a road between a generic manufacturing plant and a train station that's been sealed off from the rest of the track.

There seems to be no doors to get into the manufacturing plant, only some windows that have been sealed by metal plates. As you approach the train station, there will be a pay-phone on your right. The telephone has no buttons and the telephone book attached to it has no words, nor a cover. It's a blank white book with blank, white pages.

Inside the train station, however, there are words. A table is set up with a laminated page and a book on it. The laminate page reads: Numbers on page 16. Do not remove the book from the premises. The book has a lark emboldened in the cover. Still, the first few pages seem empty. However, turning to the 16th page, you find several names and numbers. Looking outside, you see the pay-phone suddenly has its buttons back. Then you set to the numbers and as you read along them, a voice whispers details about them in your head...
