The Tau Empire is always willing to let other races join them in the struggle for the greater good, how the Rabbits get involved can vary. Were they part of the Imperium before joining the Tau? Are they a completely different race? A result of bizarre and strange scientific heresy perhaps? Regardless, they're here now and most likely to stay.

Most of the Rabbit Auxiliaries can be found in the Tau Fire Caste, filling any and all roles, from vehicle operation to Infantry duty. Of course you can find some Rabbit pilots in the Air Caste, or particularly skilled (and often female) Rabbit Engineers in the Earth Caste and last but not least, the Water Caste has been known to use Rabbits.

Primarily though the most likely of the Rabbit Auxiliaries to be encountered are those in the Fire Caste, from relatively small pathfinding teams and Piranha crews to large mechanised units of Fire Warriors supported by the Devilfish APC. Its not unknown for entire battlegroups to be formed of Auxiliaries and particularly skilled and able Rabbits can even rise to the commander ranks, if they care to undergo the trials needed to get there and survive long enough in the line of duty.

How they can end up involved in the park or any other scenario is entirely up to debate, possible reasons involving simply getting lost or even encountering an anomaly of some form.

Each Tau Bunny typically varies from 4'6ft tall to 5'6ft tall and their uniform armour is the same as Tau armour with the Auxiliaries own choice in colour. They opt to use a two-tone camouflage scheme, either two shades of dark green, two shades of tan or two shades of grey depending on location. The only universal thing is the black-and-red sept markings and the Fire Caste symbol without its usual white background. Vehicles use the same camouflage and markings as the infantry.

One of the oddities of the Tau Auxiliaries is that they often have... unconventional methods of capturing their foes. After battles you can see several that have had to remove sections of their armour to make room for bulging bellies. Even stranger is the fact that they themselves are often caught this way and have prepared themselves for it, each Auxiliary having treatment before frontline duty to make them near to wholly immune to stomach acids. Due to the unconventional capture methods, prisoners often stay with the Bunnies for considerable periods of time, even after being released from the Bunnies, as by then the Bunnies have gained a taste for the unfortunate/fortunate prisoner.
