Tana is an adorable star loving genie. Coming from some place long long ago. She can't even remember her exact origins.
Over the years she granted a lot of wishes while being trapped inside the lamp. She is unsure but there might be a reason for that.
She is free now this happend because her lamp was kept by some royal family for safe keeping until that nation got attacked.
They wished for the nation to be saved. Tanashe of course saves the nation and as a reward for her heroism she was set free.
With the only caveat being that outside of her lamp she cannot use her genie powers to granted wishes.However is free to do so inside.
Still she is willing to help and grant peoples wishes as long as it is either an object or something she can physically do.

The inside of her lamp is unlike what you would expect from a genie however.
She has a more french then a turkish style palace looking more like a cathedral then a palace. She has several painting of kingdoms long ago.
This palace is on a decently large island with a lovely starry night sky. But... that does make it always night time in her lamp.
Which is actually very lovely if you do not mind it being always dark outside of the fancy palace.
With the peaceful ammount of noise and no sunlight coming in through the windows you will get a good nights rest every single time.
That and the fact she has a lovely fancy bedroom with a king size bed it even has a walk in closet filled to the brim with clothes.
The other rooms are aso just as fancy! A kitchen way too big for just one person. A straight up swimming pool.
A sort of tv room where she can watch or read anime/manga on her couch.
