A human male of lower-than-average height, he doesn't exactly cut the most imposing figure, at least not in casual wear. Bright, ginger-colored hair and pale skin dusted here and there with freckles mark him as having plenty of Irish blood in his ancestry, green eyes that have been trained to spot things most others wouldn't notice.

At first glance, he seems unimpressive, standing there in a black tank top and orange hoodie, having a demeanor that just seems to exude calm. He's cheerful, warm-natured, and quite typically found being quite content to get friendly with virtually anyone.

The strange device that hangs from his belt is, most likely, an MP3 player, an apparently-plastic rectangle with a screen and buttons. Certainly nothing to worry about. Even if it has no place for a headphone jack, or charger, or anything similar.

It's when the clothes come off that one might notice something off. For such a young human, he seems to have accumulated more than a few scars. His build belongs more to a soldier than to a college student, and in spite of his youth, he exhibits incredible knowledge about things few his age could comprehend...

In uniform, his image becomes far less laid-back. Formal attire includes a long blue coat with gold pins in the lapel and black armbands with three gold stripes, signifying his rank, worn over black slacks and a white shirt with a black tie. One can clearly see a patch n his right shoulder bearing the image of an eagle, the words 'Retrieval One' embroidered beneath it. It's unmistakably military.

In truth, Leon doesn't really mesh well with his military profession. He's definitely a laid-back individual, preferring to generally laze about and not get involved... Not much seems to faze him terribly much, and he'll even happily cuddle with anyone who's willing...

In spite of his background, he seems to be more than happy to be around people who don't want anything strenuous of him, simply happy to talk...

A place like this? It is, effectively, his vacation.

Leon is an agent in an international organization called the Digital Accident Tactics Squad, or DATS. Originally a small, privately-funded group, in the 50 or so years since its founding it has evolved into a massive military force, having headquarters in 106 different countries, and presence across the globe...

However, he's only been involved in it for the past seven years. Prior to that, Leon had enjoyed a reasonably content life in his home in Dallas.

On June 6, 2046, that all changed.

Six extremely powerful digimon, collectively referred to as the Great Demon Lords, emerged in six cities across the globe. Melbourne, St. Petersburg, Vatican City, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg... and Dallas. Six cities, chosen for population, cultural significance, and distance from existing DATS compounds... All wiped off the face of the earth. It took one hour. One hour to kill twenty million people.

Among them were Leon's parents, annihilated in front of his eyes by one of the Six himself, Beelzemon... He survived, somehow, escaping notice and managing to flee. In the aftermath of what would come to be called the 6/6 Attacks, there were a great many people left homeless, destitute... He lived, mostly, on the streets until he was fourteen.

It was a chance meeting, at best. No... No, it had to be fate, that he was walking down that street at that moment. He witnessed a person commanding some strange creature, the same sort he'd seen in the attacks... attacking another creature, a humanoid fox with dark red fur.

He'd moved without thinking, leaping in front of a fireball that, in truth, should have incinerated him and the vulpine... All he saw was a flash of powerful, bright red light. And then he blacked out.

When he awoke, he was in an infirmary somewhere, an elderly man standing over him, the fox sitting off to the side... The man introduced himself as one Commander Jeremiah Ames, and explained that Leon had manifested something called a 'Digisoul', and quite powerfully, at that. This energy, he explained, was the evidence of a powerful bond with a digimon, namely the creature called a renamon in the corner.

Ames explained that he was an officer in the organization DATS, and that he believed Leon would be a valuable asset to the organization... It would be a home for him, he offered, something to do, and... if he joined up, they wouldn't have to punish the renamon as a criminal who'd escaped into the human world...

Leon accepted without question. He gave the renamon a name, Dante, and he soon became his closest friend in that world, his partner, and with time... his lover.

To this day, he operates under the Commander's orders, and he's risen through the ranks in the years since.

Burst Digivice Mark IV (Combat Model Prototype) -
The very latest model, a prototype combat model designed specifically for use by Retrieval agents. Where previous models were quite functional, this was the first expressly designed for combat use. It comes with a pair of fingerless black gloves, seeming unobtrusive. They're made with the same storage technology that would normally allow for transport of the user's partner, except applied to objects. That's nothing new though; the real use is the voice-activated technology in the 'vice.
The 'vice is designed to respond to user-set voice keys, storing whatever is in the user's hand and replacing it with an item keyed to that command. The idea is for quick weapon switching and reloading in the middle of a firefight, and Leon was specifically asked by the Engineering Corps to test the prototype. So far, it seems to work flawlessly...

Armalite M4A2 5.56x45mm Carbine Rifle -
A newer model of assault rifle, standard issue for Retrieval agents. Of course, the models issued to DATS agents are markedly different from those issued to the usual military; it's made of sturdier metal, lighter too; designed to fire specialized rounds designed to deal with the usual sort of resistance Digimon commonly exhibit towards conventional weaponry.

Armalite AR 24-15 9mm Pistol -
The sidearm of choice for DATS operatives. Nothing much to add here.

HFCK-2 -
The High-Frequency Combat Knife, mark 2. A knife designed for close-quarters combat, utilized by DATS agents. The blade is a unique polymer that, when an electrical current is run through it, will vibrate at extremely high frequencies, enhancing cutting power tenfold. Designed specifically to shear through anything short of solid steel, and generally will. As a safety measure, electrical current will only run while the knife is held in a specialized glove, also designed to deal with the vibration.
