It's tough being a Tsuchigumo. For one thing, you scare the piss out of most people inside of your normal form. You can't fit in human sized doors, you can't seem to get your webbing to ever look appealing to humans. You can't ever catch a break...Oh, and of course, you can't find someone to bear your children.
It's all the propaganda's fault. The idea that Tsuchigumo babies eat their mothers from the inside. That Tsuchigumo rape their 'lovers' to make sure their children can have a life in the new world, and will drain the blood of those they care for. That any love for them is fake, because of venom on their bristly bodies, or if they bite someone, it is a potent aphrodisiac.
Lies...most of it anyway.
Certain tsuchigumo, yes...Certain ones that are now extinct.
As if all the other Tsuchigumo would let their chance to live amidst humans, nessicary for their survival, be ruined by bad seeds within their species. The rumors persist though, which leads us to Tamako.
White Wolf spider. Female, well..hermaphrodite if you want to be honest. She can fertilize eggs and impregnate humans, yes...but there lies in the problem. See, she is full of eggs...has been for sometime. Unfertile beauties waiting for genetic coding from either a male source or a female one, and she needs to put those eggs inside of someone. Blame evolution. Tsuchigumo evolved over time to be less and less heated on their bodies so that their prey could not sense them as easy. Because of this, though, they have become unable to warm their own eggs properly.
The eggs, of course, evolved to the point that they will remain in a sort of suspended animation till they get the proper heat, or they will fall out naturally over time, only to be replaced. Which lies with Tamako's problem.
Yes, Tamako really is a Miko. In fact, her whole family has been miko for some time, not that anyone would ever know they were Tsuchigumo. The people that know dont bring it up with newcomers to the shrine or the village, and they dont go waving their spider parts around willy nilly. This further falls into the problem as most of the villagers, though supportive of the tsuchigumo clan...or rather one girl left, they are all a little too old to be dating the youthful tsuchigumo...especially when she needs to raise a family.
Tamako is laden with eggs...she has been for some time....It's hard to count how many she has, but she has no intention of laying all of them...All a Tsuchigumo needs is to oviposit one egg and their birthing desires will go away for years, basically till their child grows up to be an adult. True, Tamako wants more then one, but she will not be picky. The problem, as you can see above, is that she has -never- laid...and never had a baby. So her body is -screaming- for her to give birth, and she simply cannot follow her 'rape' instinct, because it's rape, and she does not want to go to jail, nore be away from her child.
So...She goes from girlfriend to girlfriend. Trying and failing...It doesn't matter the amount of time...the second they know she's a Tsuchigumo, they scream...or run...or call the police, or simply leave.
...Tamako has had her heart broken so many times...but she can't stop...not till she finds the one.
Personality
She is a sweetie. Very much a sweetie for a Tsuchigumo, or even normal people. Now, despite her -issue-, she does not come on too hard, nore does she ever disgrace her position as a miko...till someone shows interest in her. She is very physical in her attention toward someone she loves. Lots of kisses, lots of hugging...and if you love her for being a tsuchigumo, snuggled, rubbed by fuzzy legs, carried , even pinned down...and yes, egged...she wants babies badly. She won't risk your life...but you'll be the proud mother of a tsuchigumo child.
Physiology
Being a white wolf spider, she gets a few things going for her. For one, she has a very light tan spider body that eventually turns to white as it grows out, and yes...its sort of bristly and fuzzy, so you can brush and snuggle into it. She has six eyes, all spiderlike and bright blue like her own. She does have spinerettes, though she does not make the normal web that people associate with spiders. It is more of a nest. She doesn't eat flesh, her stomach simply unable to process meals like that. Either she will drink blood, or her fangs have a very potent acid that she injects into her meat to be able to...well..drink it.
Yes, it's gross, yes she won't eat in front of people generally unless it is blood.
She is very strong...easily able to climb up walls and ceilings even, and even more easily able to pick someone up and let them ride her.
She also has a Tri-functioning sex organ consisting of a fleshy tube that can be soft and internal for male sex, can extend outward to be thrusted into a female for insemination...or oviposition, and it -does- feel amazing. No sharpness or rigidness, though it is quite long...and will extend into the womb.
This tube can be extended either in her humanic or tauric form. As for the transformation, it is something all tsuchigumo can do, able to compact their bodies into a sort of internal safehouse. Call it magic, or whatever you wish, but in her human form, noone can tell she is a tsuchigumo.
