The life of a Japanese idol is full of glamour, excitement, and prestige... at least on the surface. But the sad truth is that underneath the glossy exterior, these girls are simply used, manipulated, worked half to death, and then the moment they make a mistake or turn seventeen, their career ends instantly. Presenting anything less then the ideal image for a pop idol is a death sentence.
And 'Uber-Kawaii Suzu-chan' just recently 'celebrated' her seventeenth birthday.
Suzume Suzuki had a good run; she has a legion of adoring fans, wealth, fame, but now her time is up and society has decreed that it's time for the next big thing to take her place. After sacrificing so much time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears for her dreams, Suzume was unwilling to accept that it's 'over'. From there, it was only a simple matter of a few correct words in her ear for the girl to willingly allow herself to be seduced into accepting the corruption of being reborn as a
Noble Succubus.
Before her transformation, Suzume was a bubbly, easily excited, kindhearted and sweet tempered girl... and as far as the world knows, she still is, because this is the front she continues to project in the public eye. But behind closed doors, she's become calculating, greedy, lustful, and rationalizes all the horrible actions she's begun taking, fooling herself into believing that her victims 'deserve' their fate. Before, her bubbly personality hid a deceptively sharp mind... now, it hides a cunning one, driven by ambition and cupidity. Suzume has become a danger to those around her... and she's still only a young succubus, weak in personal power and lowly ranked within succubi society.
Serving the the court of the deranged Duchess London, Suzume plays a dangerous game of trying to please her Duchess, whose temper is legendary and whose punishment for those artists she acquires is... unique, and of trying to advance her own station while tearing down her rivals. And so far, she's proven herself adept at the game of thrones.
Publicly, some have begun to wonder about 'Uber-Kawaii Suzu-chan', as her public image
has changed in one dramatic way. Instead of her former cotton-candy pink with sugar icing innocent girl styling, she's taken on a gothic lolita image and almost always can be seen predominantly wearing black. Her career, which was collapsing just six months ago, has suddenly rebounded in a big way thanks to her ability to literally enthrall listeners with her quite literally supernatural voice.
As a Noble Succubus, Suzume's primary color is black, meaning that she must wear it or feature it in her fashion under all circumstances. Of the four Goddesses, the one that patrons her the most is Eisheth, the Mother of Restoration. While she herself is physically weak, not particularly hardy, or fleet of foot (for a succubus, it should be noted), her voice contains a power that few have. With her voice, she can empower those around her, strengthening their muscles, quickening their step, and hardening their flesh. She can lift flagging spirits, inspire berserk rages, and lift the fog of mind control from other's eyes. This is a rare gift among the succubi, who's talents are far more commonly personal and selfish in nature. By herself, Suzume is nothing overly special, but she is capable of making a small group of Succubi much more powerful then they would otherwise be, acting as both a command node, a force multiplier, and when the need is great, as a medic.
Suzume is likely going places in Noble society... and that bodes very ill indeed for the world.
