Sumiara used to live by herself in a shrine in the more northern countries, not having to worry about a thing as she did her daily duties as both the Miko and the owner of the shrine. However one day a man ended up at the shrine, he was hurt and Sumiara ended up taking care of him too for the time being, the two of them eventually fell in love and the result of that would be Kuriko. Kuriko got the same features as her mother, a young Kitsune with the spiritual power to become the new Miko of the shrine, and her mother has not thrown that aside as every day she teaches her daughter new things. Now people might wonder where the father is, and the story is slightly sad. During one of this trips in the forest he was ambushed by bandits, and this time he didn't get away with it with just a couple of minor injuries, it was death. His body was found by Sumiara two days after the incident, she gave her lover and the father of her daughter a sacred burial. Kuriko was there too of course, she was only about 8 years old when this happened, though she didn't let this weaken her soul and continued working hard to become the next Miko and to learn the healing spells her mother knew so maybe in the future she can save her own lover from such a disaster.
Five years have passed since the death of her father, and Kuriko has learned a lot since then, of course she is still not old enough to become a full fledged Miko but she has been to great help to her mother, their ages are quite far from each other, with her mother being 290 and Kuriko being only 13, but this is Kitsune we are talking about here, they live for a long time. One thing that is noticeable when coming to their shrine is that there will always be snow there, and most of the time it will also be snowing, but there are still patches of land where the green shows and flowers are blooming. This is because of the Kitsune's magic spreading from the shrine. They are both very friendly friendly and will certainly not mind having people visiting them if they end up at their shrine.
