Background:

Steve hails from the city near the park, a place with a healthy mix of furs and humans and boasting a decent population. He's dropped out of the university and moved to a townhouse a few blocks from campus. Owing to a tough job market, he's bit the bullet and taken on a job as a security officer for a decent firm, working the night beat at an investment office. It's relatively safe work, the view of the local lake is gorgeous, and it gives him ample time to think about his lot in life and plans for the future.

He's very aware of the goings on in the park - but he simply has a few friends he can't stand -not- to see here and there! It scares and fascinates him as it always has - there's always a sense that he just might be tempting fate too far with the devourings and subsequent reformations, so his attitude remains highly cautious. Instinct is a thing not easily shaken. It has been a very long time since he's visited the park, and so many of those encounters seemed too good to be true, or surreal to believe. Maybe he really imagined it all...?

Recently, Steve's sister Michelle has moved in with him, the pair working their respective jobs and keeping an eye out for each other. Their townhouse is a little isolated on the outer curve of a cul-de-sac, and surrounded by beautiful fir trees. Two stores, rather compact, but quite functional for their needs.

He's a small guy in a dangerous world, and he means to eke out a life of his own in spite of it.

Description:

The red panda stands at a modest four feet, his magnificent tail winding from his back at an impressive three feet. He's covered in red fur, with black running down from his upper arms and thighs to his feet and hands. The tops of his hands and feet are coated with black fur, his fingers and palms coated in creamy white much like his toes and the soles of his feet. His ears puff up from his cheek length black hair, white and floofy. He typically can be seen with a backpack slung over his shoulders and either a small sketch pad or a good book or two.

His black hair is often pulled back in a simple ponytail, with a few long bangs left to hang over his face and sometimes get tangled in his whiskers.

When on duty, he is in a very typical officer's uniform. Jacket, pants, button up shirt and tie, with a hefty compliment of equipment -- a 9mm, pepper spray, baton, tazer.. all panda sized, naturally.

Temperament: The panda is a friendly sort, though he can be a bit shy around new people and larger, predatory types. He is ever curious, and rather energetic - although he's hardly the strongest being around. Being somewhat unaware of how dangerous the area can be, he goes about armed only with a pocket knife, and is a bit more trusting then he should be, despite a occasionally healthy caution of larger, strange beings.

Reformation and Continuity: The panda has a history that develops in and out of the chat. Generally it is assumed that the area's magical powers handle his reformation - but it is far from a fluffy process for the fellow as it means he awakens all alone in a remote part of the forest without any of his possessions! His memory of the immediate circumstances left a little fuzzy but not always blotting out the traumatizing bits...

While the panda is a somewhat established character, he can also be tweaked depending upon the desired setting or history. No need to not be flexible :)
