Startwist is an anthropomorphic figure covered in dark black fur broken up with tiny speckles of silver who also produces a faint silvery glow, little drops of this aura flecking off like dust in a trail behind him as he floats about. He's clearly a fairy as evidenced by that glowy dust and the fact that he's only a few inches tall. His eyes too have a solid silver color, no pupil visible within. He's got the rouded ears and the slender hairless tail of a rat or mouse. His build is slender and implies frailty, and it seems he favors going around nude... though his fur coat makes it easy to ignore the naughty bits.
He has magic of course, he's literally made of it. He's not especially powerful though and typically makes use of his abilities to play around. Changing size and shape, creating illusions, healing, and influencing minds are his specialties. Being made of magic also has the nice side effect of making his body somewhat stretchy and granting him the ability to simply form himself anew should he be killed by some form of violence.
The fairy cares far more for wildlife and plantlife than he does for people, which isn't to say he's anti-social, just that he's grumpy towards people who disrespect nature. He's very forgetful and sometimes pretty random or hyper. If someone seems friendly and caring enough to him he can be quite affectionate. If he develops a distaste for a person he'll try and bother them somehow but he stops short of physical violence.
