Born of an Elven champion (Elanil Thornheart) and a Human bard of the college of Lore (Eric Summersong (Actually Eric Taylor)) when the bard's adventuring party (The chasers of dawn) got to Evermeet during their adventures. Their romance was brief and ended when the bard's group left the island and continued their adventures. Eric and Elanil never met again.

Elanil was a loving mother and while her family never spoke outright about it they saw the inferiority of man on the young child.

When Crystal was 4 years old a group of undead attacked their hometown. Elanil led the resistance sacrificing her life to stop the necromancer. Most of the necromancers were destroyed except for one who managed to escape. Elanil's body was never found either and she had a bodyless funeral.
Crystal then passed to be raised by her uncles and aunts the half elven bastard of the youngest daughter there was not much expected on the young girl "She may have the sword talent of her mother" they said "She may become a sworn sword for our kid Mackedon when he comes of age.

And then the night of the long knives came and many different families were taken among them the Thornhearts. The conspirators where ordered to give between one to five of their own and they had it easy to offer Crystal. The half-even was condemned to lose her last name and leave the land under penalty of dead.

Having left her world behind she now has arrived to the swordcoast with the few possessions she treasured. No longer having land nor family she is looking for a place in the world.
