Dizplec seemed to be just some senator-- and to the public, he was. A bit young for the job, but he wore his suits, voted Republican, didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Even his previous life was simply "ordinary"-- went to Harvard, his young life spent in Michigan, no amazing deeds, no heinous crimes. He got elected by a slim run, and went to serve a term as senator. His name wasn't Dizplec then. He was someone else.
In fact, most of the public didn't know his name. But like all politics, it was shrouded in underhandedness. Dizplec was trying to fund and pass a project to invade and control most of Europe, and had put extensive dollars into a secretive "super soldier" type of project for the task. A few other politicians were a part of it. However, one of the scientists started to doubt the project's morals, and attempted to stop it. Succeeded in stopping it, with the help of an "anonymous donor", and locked down the lab with him inside it. Dizplec himself went to the lab-- a mistake, in hindsight-- and the scientist welcomed him by pushing him into one of the massive machines they were using to develop chemicals for their project. He was torn to pieces.
But that wasn't all. The chemicals were still in the machines when it ran, Dizplec included. And it turns out, the lastest batch did induce something, for reasons unknown-- immortality, of a sort. Dizplec was stuck living forever and living in pieces, torn to shreds by the same machine that saved him.
It was a year, the project long since shut down and the scientist long since imprisoned without a trial or any public knowledge, before someone noticed the life within the pieces of a man in the machine. It wasn't the government who did-- it was a very different man, one who ran a mercenary operation and needed someone with special talents, such as immortality. Dizplec found himself pulled out and stitched together-- literally-- a slapshod undying creature with a job in mercenary work. His name became classified. His past erased. His life...
Well, he says his life got a whole lot more interesting.
Used to work a job for
Chemica_Iradiat but she was forcing him to "do the right thing" without pay. He got sick of it and left her, taking all his guns and most of hers with him. She can handle herself just fine trying to kill an entire criminal empire. No reason to stay involved without pay.
