This profile has two purposes for me:

To entertain any and all futuristic or space based rp ideas and scenarios brought to me by interested parties and expand this profile through creative juggling of ideas back and forth. Good ideas, races, scenarios and places will find themselves enshrined here.

To allow me to make a home for the alien Quarra and not have to make another profile for later species I create.

Notes: I have a flexible preference leaning towards small scale low end sci fi though can entertain both types.

Species list:

The Questers for the divine, The Quarra.
Appearance: Demihuman aliens whose differences from the human form will be described below.
Firstly all Quarra are either female or hermaphrodite and this is tied to a four year cycle leaving them herm a quarter of their lifespan. Secondly Quarra are an amphibious species though they can survive albeit unhappily for a great deal of time out of water, their skin is blue, rather smooth and they can breath through it when submerged at least partially. Their next most apparent adaptation and as easily noticed as their skin is their tails, a good five foot of tapering muscle and bone ending in a paddle like fin that surrounds the tail's end like a leaf does its stem. The last addition that'd be noticed is their forearm and calf fins, stabilizing frills extending a few inches out which can be tucked close to the limb by musculature acting upon the spines of the fin.

Biology: As mentioned Quarra have that one in four herm cycle but in addition it must be mentioned that Quarra are extremely capable predators able to stretch all major orifices to take in prey (Oral,AV,UB,CV) and deal with it once its inside. As to be expected Quarra tails are rather powerful in order to let them swim at speed in the water. Quarra are also not born so much as hatched from laid eggs and via UB they can encase people in eggs if there's a compelling reason why they should.

History and culture:
The Quarra technically count as an uplifted civilization having jumped from preindustrial society to the space age though only in certain technologies. This all started when a human survey vessel landed on the Quarra homeworld and the crew was unexpectedly devoured by natives who proved hungrier than anticipated. The technology of space travel was clearly a wonder to the Quarra but the beings who came with it were easily devoured and therefore could not be the originators of such divine machinery. Over the following decades the Quarra managed to make crude yet working copies of the technology of the survey ship and build their own duplicate vessels to set out to the stars both in search for the star gods who made this technology and to punish the usurpers who must of stolen it from the gods.

Quarra have no understanding of the underlying principles of the tech they use and therefore fall back to a theistic understanding that ship parts that work are imbued with the favour or at least indifference of the star gods while components that are malfunctioning are a sign of the god's displeasure which must be rectified through rituals conducted by the ship clerics. These rituals include some basic maintenance steps but in general Quarran ships are in a sorry state and fall apart over the course of the voyage. It should be noted though Quarra are adept at stealing new ships once they've been sanctified for use to purge the usurper taint.
A Quarran space voyage consists of Warrior Quarra at the lowest rank who act as a chant choir during maintenance and the clerics who know the rituals that appease the gods regarding various components. A Quarran voyage is led by the Navigator and High priestess who serve jointly as captain in the sense that in general only the Navigator chooses where they're going but the High priestess's word is law regarding what they do with anything they encounter.

Quarra warriors use spears and their digestive powers in battle against usurpers and regard robots and armoured vehicles to be usurper demons. As spears don't suffice for dealing with such it is lucky that those few clerics who do enter combat (usually junior ones) are carrying somewhat temperamental mining lasers that excel at penetration. All quarra ships are upgunned copies of human vessels they've captured, at least so far, armed with cannons firing powerful fusion rocket shells.

Vessel types:
Survey ship: Delta wing vessel containing a few dozen Quarra.
Light freighter: A much larger tail lander starship, this extra size gives it room for two hundred or more Quarra and a larger battery of cannons though the nature of its landing procedure makes it more prone to crash in Quarran hands.

The Stream rider Empire.

A multi star empire linked together and named for their FTL stream riding system. More details revealed as time goes by.

Personnel:

Guardswomen: Primary footsoldiers of the Stream rider empire, tall green skinned humanoids wearing bronze coloured carapace armour. Standard armament is shock rifles backed up by energy swords and their own stretcheable bodies and voracious appetites.

Tech:
Personal scale stream, an energy tornado of sorts for the retrieval and deployment of personnel from an orbiting spacecraft. Diameter approximately 10 meters.

Character list:

Clanis, a Nirn from the BNI sci fi universe. Essentially that means she's an alien demihuman with grey blue skin, more vividly blue hair down to her shoulders and most importantly two rather long reptilian tails that end in lizardlike eyeless heads with rather long jaws. She's also fairly young as Nirn go and appears in her late twenties by earth reckoning. She also stands between five and six foot tall. Her tails are fairly animate most of the time, 'peering' over her shoulders and sniffing the air and nearby objects. They also tend to lick and nom things a lot.
She's been dropped off here by her parents for a while. As for why she might be holidaying here? well the Nirn's two ship types are the Gourmand and Gastronome respectively and that's all the clue you're getting.
