Skylar is a college freshmen attending a relatively prestigious academy. She was born completely blind, having never seen the light of day. Rather, her world is shrouded in darkness. Despite this, over the years she has come to accept and deal with her visual impairment, quickly learning how to get around and function in society with relative ease. Granted, her lack of sight still leaves her at a disadvantage, especially in a place like the Nexus where hungry predators roam.

Her childhood was a rather difficult one, many of her peers poking fun at her lack of sight. This caused Skylar to retreat into herself, making her become incredibly shy and timid when confronted with other people. Many classify her as socially awkward, something she doesn’t deny. Although she had few friends growing up, there was one constant companion which she could always depend upon to cheer her up, that being music.

Music being one of the few things she could enjoy thanks to her vision, Skylar quickly became fascinated by it. She had always had an incredible sense of rhythm, and for her ninth birthday, her parents paid for piano lessons. That sparked Skylar’s passion for performing music, the girl quickly mastering the instrument before moving onto the violin. Skylar is a prodigy when it comes to music, the girl capable of playing just about any instrument and copying a tune simply after listening to it a few times. This talent of hers has helped her become a musician, often playing at local bars, restaurants, and even in orchestras.
