Who needs some stupid "island challenge" anyway?

Such was what Leo thought when he gave his best shot...and ended up missing his target. Leo never was the best shot, anyway - the dorky trainer ran to the beat of his own drum. He was set to pull out on this challenge that was all laid out, but things hadn't gone so well for the aspiring champion. Things had gone so south that his hopes of ever holding a Pokeball again were dashed. Circumstances weren't looking good for him, right at that very moment.

However, the boy knew that opportunity lied elsewhere for him. It lied in alleys, in streets, in corners...and in a batch of good friends that fell with him. Opportunity's name was Team Skull, of course. Opportunity welcomed him with open arms, gave him a goal, an occupation, and some sweet threads to waltz around in. The association came with a sort of authority - if what a raccoon had was authority, but still. The boy was much like a racoon himself, actually - resourceful, but quite the chaotic little fuck who found his herd of other chaotic little fucks to be with.

Somehow, someway though, Leo needed to get a team. Can't go running around barking if there's no biting to be done! In setting out to do so, he put all of his cash in Pokeballs. Cash that actually paid out really well, as Leo had a good eye and a better throwing arm. His duitful questing for 'mons gave him quite the roster.

The prime gang of mons he amassed lead to him becoming a notable figure among grunts, as he brought in quite a bit of profit and almost always came back with whatever 'mon he planned to steal from a trainer. Leo was still the same loveable dork with quite the prowess in battle, but when it came to working for the team...he always did what he could, and what he could was now levels of work nearing what the boss was doing. Any particular trainer unfortunate enough to own whatever mon - and likely money too - that Leo just happened to be after, though, never were heard from again.

It happened again and again, and there wasn't a word of astonishment dropped by any fellow grunts. All that remained was a well-fed, battle hardened grunt who never failed to bring home the bacon for his kin...

...and rampant thoughts of "Yo, I think that's worth a shot!" That, of course, being what Leo would tell them that he did to bring home this much for the team.

And so he reigned, the punky dork becoming a breadwinner simply by having a good pair of arms, a knowledge of where the good mons were...

and quite the appetite for whoever came to challenge him to a battle~
