History:

When pilgrims, tourists, and such visit the temple of The Hallowed Knights, they often do so with the intent of seeing the better-known sights-- The tomb of the original grandmaster, the order's sacred weapons, and the training grounds. However, there's one sight that tends to freeze most visitors in their tracks if they're lucky enough to spot her. Namely, a towering demoness most frequently seen in a nun's attire. Despite how blatantly out of place she is among holy knights, Merihem has resided within the temple for over a century now, assisting the knights as best she can. The demoness rarely discusses her life before the order, but over the years various people have managed to coax bits and pieces out of the demoness and compare notes to form a relatively complete picture.

It's a widely held belief truly terrible humans steeped in depravity and sin reincarnate as demons when they die, their own wickedness tainting their souls so completely that there is no place in paradise for them. Merihem believes herself to be one such demon. The exact nature of Merihem's mortal crimes is a mystery, but her sin is not: Gluttony.

For several human lifetimes, the demoness roamed Hell and Earth sating her base desires until she met... Him. The brave young knight quested with slaying Meri was meant to be a meal like all the others before him, and yet there was something different about the boy. To this day, Merihem doesn't know what it was, but the would-be morsel stirred feelings within Meri that the gluttony demoness didn't know she had. Ephemeral memories danced through the demoness' mind and vague images took shape-- A man's face and the feeling of laughing with a special someone long, long ago.

Merihem spared the boy, allowing him to flee with his life. She expected to never see him again. Then, several days later, he returned with a small feast and a smile. The rest, as they say, is history.

Personality:

The Merihem of today is a far cry from the cruel, ravenous beast of 100 years ago. Though she's hardly what one would consider a well-behaved nun... She means well. She's gentle, kind, and sweet-- always ready to help and heal with a warm smile and soothing presence, but... old habits die hard. Old habits also occasionally lead to intense cravings and people inside a stomach before Meri even realizes what she's doing...

Aside from these "episodes," Meri has a fixation with romance and intimacy that often leads her to willingly engage in impure behavior... The concept of a relationship based on love and consent rather than dominance and possession was quite alien to her until relatively recently and now Meri is eager to experience such a thing in as many ways with as many people as possible. Merihem insists that she truly cares for each and every partner whom she spends time with in this manner and, seeing as she's doing no obvious harm, (and may in fact even be good for morale) her superiors at the temple allow this behavior to continue. Of course, she tries to keep what exactly she does with her lovers on the down-low...

Though Merihem carries herself with the utmost confidence in the bedroom, she'd just as soon die of embarassment if word spread about just what kinds of things she tends to talk her partners into trying!
