Appearance

Legal Name: Sigfried Pekelo
Height: 6'2''
Weight: 200 Lbs Even
Coloration: Blue-gray back, white belly, speckles around the border of the two.

A bit tall and rather thin for a shark anthro, he generally wears a stage outfit consisting of, a vest, top hat, cape, white gloves, and occasionally carries a staff tipped with an enormous blue gem. His tail drops down very quickly but runs parallel to the floor for a long distance. Sig can move his tail on his own, but only side to side. Teeth are short, sharp, and plentiful. Basically, just look at the picture.

Personality

Taking the center of any stage provided, Sig the Spectacular is a stage magician, street magician, or a downright anywhere magician. He lives to show magic to people who would otherwise be without entertainment, even if they may not want entertainment at the moment. The shark sees his calling to broaden people's horizons, to get them to experience new things, and he often calls upon members of the audience to participate, pressuring them to join him in front of the crowd, but never forcing them. Though once you step into the spotlight beside him, anything goes. As far as he's concerned, you are a part of the show.

While many of his appearances remain friendly and fun for the entire family, a few shows may take a darker turn, catering more to the ... tastes, shall we say, of the Nexus populace.

Abilities and powers

Stage Magic. The less said here the better. How can you put on a show if you give away the secrets behind it? Suffice to say, as much of it is real as it is smoke and mirrors. Sig tailors each show to the audience that comes, even going without any sort of magic for those skeptics that take pleasure in debunking magicians... though he asks those who think they know all of his tricks to meet him alone backstage after the show has finished.

Background

Sigfried, or Sig as he prefers, is an odd one to say the least. Second born of his family in a rural town, Sig was always raring to be the center of attention . He craved approval of the masses, and his choices all through his years in school reflected that, being involved in numerous pranks until he had the chance to take to the stage through extracurricular activities.

Plays, musicals, talent shows, concerts, no matter what the occasion, Sig took the spotlight. And then he graduated… sneaking by with just the bare minimum in his core curriculum. It wasn’t long before he craved the spotlight once more, finding his niche in stage magic and illusions, displaying a modest amount of magical potential to make it so that his shows didn’t rely solely on trickery to entertain.

His ambition and personality was not universally adored, however. In what was to be his big break, with multiple talent scouts in the audience, an unknown adversary struck. What was supposed to be a simple pyrotechnics display was sabotaged, and the entire venue caught ablaze. Emptying in the panic, it seemed that nobody in the crowd had been seriously injured, merely minor burns and smoke inhalation. That is, until somebody noticed that the star performer was nowhere among them.

Presumed dead in what was declared to be a tragic accident, only Sig’s family wept for him, for his personality made close friends rather difficult to keep and despite his early success in his career, he was just another ‘amateur’ that was soon forgotten. For two years, there was not a trace of him in the world save for memories and a solemn gravesite. And then, on the second anniversary of the fire and the shark’s reported death, flyers went up all around town with a grinning face and a few lines of text.

Locations frequented

The Stage:
It can appear anywhere in the city, park, or forest, in many different forms. Anywhere from a grand theater with rows upon rows of cushioned seats, to a ramshackle podium in the street. But regardless of the appearance, it always has the same properties. Once you step beneath the spotlight, you're a part of the show... and by the time the curtains close perhaps part of the showman as well.
The audience is forbidden from interfering with what happens onstage several means. First, a barrier prevents anything from the seating area from affecting anything onstage, physically, magically, psionically or otherwise. The only things that seem to work around this are sounds of a non-dangerous level and pitch, volunteers headed up to the stage and, oddly, spoiled fruits and vegetables. Secondly, there's enough of a compulsion effect about the place that the vast majority of the other spectators will interfere with forced attempts should they persist and cause a disruption.
