In a world where shrinking has gone main stream, Hero would be caught in the cross fire. Failing to report to class on time for the
seventh time in a row due to being fairly new to the area. Hero would be punished by having his size stripped away from him. While reduced to a smaller size he does gain a cruel perk. His shrunken form is more durable, so can be stepped on. But if one did intended to crush him for what ever reason, Adding a firm amount of pressure would due the trick. This perk does not however really help if he was to say be swallowed. It's been tested and documented. Mini bodies and stomach acids don't mix as of yet.

~Side notes~

Since shrinking is mainstream and is used commonly, there are many "accidents." Which are frowned upon, but no criminal charges can be filed.

Can exclude the durable part, So can be crushed in walked on and such.

Can change the reason why he shrunk to open up better role plays.

Hero has to give other students and friends his information. Once he has the other person is free to shrink them to any size they desire.

The app also has features. Which cost money. Like the restore feature, to return them to normal height. A tracking feature if wanting to keep close attention, or accidentally lost him. Could be other possible features, even a TF one. Has been introduced to the idea and I currently like it when more object based.

Teachers and Parents and other authority like figures have full control of the app and is used as a means of punishment.
There is even an app for shrinking on the go.
Quick scene ideas.~

Was staying the night at his friends house, decides to accept a dare which results in him shrinking for the remainder of the night or even longer.

Arguing with younger/older sibling in which parent(s) decide to punish Hero.

Agrees to do a class project which shows the horror a shrunken has to endure daily.

App starts acting up resulting in Hero being shrunk in a random place.

Friend/family shrinks Hero and over time forgets about them.
