The undisputed creator of Makai, a world of demons whose entrance is located near the Hakurei Shrine in a mountain cave, and a powerful goddess who rules over the many demons who inhabit the infernal dimension beyond Gensokyo's borders. No one can truly be sure on Shinki's origins, the demon goddess seeming to be as old as the stars she's created in Makai's dimensional space, however, it's believed that Shinki was a lot younger when she molded the demonic dimension and it's residents into existence. Shinki herself is kind, motherly and also holds a bit of a quirky side where she can come off as slightly ditzy and playful. However, she still retains a noble and sublime visage when needed and can be incredibly dangerous if provoked or angered. In other cultures, Shinki could be easily likened to Satan.
