Information on Steampunk:

Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or digital mechanical computers (such as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine); these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or with a presumption of functionality.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.

Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk.

Information on Sparks:

The Spark, short for "the spark of genius", is the mental attribute which is the sine qua non of a mad scientist, who is therefore referred to as "a Spark". To quote the Professors Foglio, the Spark is "whatever it is that makes Mad Scientists what they are. A poorly understood concept that identifies and incorporates a batch of personality traits shared by those who have it." They are 'people who seem to have the ability to tinker with the laws of physics as we know them. They are brilliant, focused, and often impatient with those whose thoughts don't run with the speed or in the direction of their own. Because of this, some of those thoughts have veered off in truly alarming directions. This makes them dangerous and shortsighted..."[1].

There can be competent, even brilliant, engineers and researchers who are nevertheless not Sparks and therefore will never make the intuitive leaps necessary to "truly warp the laws of nature" and arrive at such creations as Dr. Jekyll's formula, Dr. Frankenstein's monster, a Strong AI implemented in clockwork, or even the absolutely perfect cup of coffee. (However, some apparently sparky creations — such as nuclear submarines equivalent to Captain Nemo's Nautilus, heavier-than-air flying machines, Google AdSense, and mortgage-backed securities — actually do exist in our world.)

It is a rare hereditary trait found mostly within a small number of families - most of the common population that "break through" are either relatively weak or lack the education to make full use of their abilities. Most of those who survive quickly gain minions through sheer charisma, and eventually gather tremendous support unless killed by rival Sparks. Those that survive this process of attrition become the power players of their fictional world, and if they successfully reproduce they begin lineages that are nothing less than royalty – right down to personal heraldic sigils: the Heterodyne Trilobite, the Sturmvoraus Sword-and-Gear,The Everard electrified gear, and the Wulfenbach Winged Tower, for example. However, this does little to satisfy their obsessions, and they spend most of their time dueling rivals when not engaging in dangerous experiments.

They are thus almost always generally despised, and are colloquially called "mad boys" and "mad girls". But calling one this to his or her face is generally considered hazardous to one's health.

About Shaylee

Background:

The Everard family is well known for the gift of the spark, and even the family motto "Unus postulo sereno incompertus pro provectus" shows the urge to create and discover new things. Previous Everards are known for such discoveries as electrical force and temporal mechanics, though most fail at any attempt in applying either force except for small trinkets and simple devices, such as weapons.

Shaylee is one of the lucky few girls to be granted the gift known as "the Spark", and not go mad in the process of puberty. This, of course had lead to her slowly building new inventions that the world she lived in had never even seen, especially within her families theoretical energies....though, in an unforeseen accident she had built the equivalent of a Temporal shifting device...AKA a Extra-planar portal AKA a Stargate, D-Hopper, Time Machine, Tardis, ETC ETC ETC.

This, of course, lead to her being sent through the fabrics of space and time...the only issue with that, is the fact she never even thought of installing a way to control WHERE she would be sent.

Personality

Shaylee is not your stereotypical blond at all...She is smart, witty, and logical, though she does have her cute side. Generally she is a pacifist, never wanting to use any of her creations...the problem is the things she designs tends to eventually be made into a weapon, so the urge for her to create is rather low. Its due to her spark that she is forced to create in the end, literally compelled to make new things, or try new ideas, and one will often find her tinkering along with a new design of her own creation.

On the odd chance you don't catch her in the middle of a project, she will either be drawing in her notebook or enjoying nature...she, oddly, believes that the natural world is the greatest creation of all, and to try and improve on that would just be plain silly.

Creations:

"Temporal shifting device": An interesting device made by accident when Shylee was attempting to create a matter transporter, mostly so she could have her food sent directly to her workshop, and not have to put up with the insufferable fools who sought to try and either capture her for ransom, or sneak into her workshop to steal her plans. Obviously, since it shifted her, and not the apple she intended to send it was a failed experiment.

"Electrical-current deterrent Corset": A personal design of her own, it is a leather corset with numerous hidden wires spun through its cloth, causing a horrific shock when turned on. It was designed on the odd chance that someone would try to take advantage of her, giving her a last line of defense.

" Focused Light Accelerator": Yet another device created for her defense, it uses light in a concentrated beam to cause anything it comes into contact to become superheated with the simple pull of a crossbow trigger. A prototypical design, it is rather large (Think Minigun) but can cause most anything to erupt in flames with a single shot.

"Electrical-current deterrent weapon": Her main device used for defense, a large wand that shifts an alternating current through it. It was designed as a rapier, as all it would need to do was make skin contact to send immense electrical force through her opponent. Non-lethal at its normal state, she can easily up the amperage to cause fatal, even overbearing electricity to spark through it, on the odd chance she must destroy a robot's circuitry with it.

"Spark-Infused ARachnoidal REconnaissance Bot ( SIR REB): The spark, in its very nature, can bend the laws of physics, giving some the ability to create autonomous devices, or automata. Sir Reb is one those devices, working with a simple Artificial intelligence, and one of the very first things that the Everard family had ever created. Not speficically of Shaylee's creation, Sir Reb does follow her every command, as he serves the Everard families only heir.

Sir Reb's main function is to record, wheather to watch an opponent or keep record for the everard files, he has...or i should say had a direct link to the family workshop at all times. with the sudden shift, he is working on the limited space within his own body.

'Functional Gyroscopic Spherically-driven Escape Device' or "For Gods Sake, Escape Damnit!" : One of Shaylee's newest creations, it relies on opposing motion to drive it, a large polished stainless steel ball is surrounded by a pair of intercrossed rings, ball bearings hidden within the rings, moving to create both forward motion and near impossible turn radius capabilities. Comes equipped with both acid and flame retardant spray applications to the whole vehical, along with a set of hidden braking spikes and a set of Focused Light Accelerators, both hidden in opposing parts of the ring, the vehicle has two possible driving cockpits, located where the rings cross.

Personal Sexual Inspiration Induction System - Mark 3 or 'Ravager': Maximillian Pendragus the Third, minister of stress relief created this as his last work, an almost twistedly polite clank designed mostly as tentacles, with rudimentary poles for movment. It starts as a seemingly harmless box with a red button on it, but soon after activation it will release its tentacles and proceed to...well use your imagination.

Shaylee came into contact with this device and its functions rather unwillingly, it taking her maidenhead, though she doesnt see it as a loss of virginity. Ravager is generally used as a restraining/torture device by Shaylee these days, and its oddly polite AI, when possible, is controlled by tentacles.

Newest project: Perfecting the art of TARDIS, or Time And Relative Dimention to Space, a concept her family has long had theories for creating, but has not had any sort of breakthroughs in its creation, till the fateful 'apple' experament.

OOC Notes: I would prefer to create a new world for any RP that happens, as the park is far too broad a place for someone like her to function properly...though if you really wish it to be so, she can appear in the park, and may do so on her own.

Sliders define preference, though they are not definate.

Player is NOT a big fan of vore, will do it, but prefers not to.
