Seven_Companions

((While always for a sci-fi setting, the Seven Companions can be played in a setting with mecha, or without mecha, in the latter case they'll have advanced suits of armor to wear into battle instead. It can also be a setting where humanity has only just started colonizing the solar system, or has spread across the galaxy.

I am willing to play them in just about any sci fi setting. Star Wars, Doctor Who, Mass Effect, Gundam, and original settings all over the place.))

Space, the final and greatest frontier. In space the possibilities are nearly limitless, countless millions of planets to explore, colonize, exploit, or admire. Yet, as civilizations expand, as societies, both human and alien meet and exchange, the sheer number of ideas, the constant dozens of clashing religions, ideals and cultures can lead to conflicts. Sometimes the conflict comes from native flora or fauna on particularly dangerous worlds. Ultimately, space is not simply a frontier of exploration and colonization, but also one of combat, warfare, and violence. In such a place, military strength is required by even the most peaceful of civilizations, those that are pacifists, are forced to align themselves with those who wield military strength, or simply deal with the fact that they will be weak and pushed around at large by the numerous problems that assail the galaxy.

Whether humanity has just soared into the stars, or whether they have been exploring it for decades, a need for military might and skill is always needed, and whether great or weak, cruel or benevolent, such strength can be found, in the Seven Companions.

Just where they come from, people aren't quite certain. All that's known for certain is that the seven companions are capable, skilled and dangerous mercenaries. They don't bid, but have a simple fixed wage for their services, leaving many the opportunity to hire them, and most importantly, they never go back on a contract. If you hire the Seven Companions, you have them at your disposal to the very rules of the contract established, until it is either completed, or you're wiped out by your enemies. The Seven have never gone back on a contract or been swayed away by those wealthier, having a strict professional code. However, they will also work for anyone, and have been seen working for cruel, uncaring tyrants as often as poor, beleaguered peaceful nations. The Seven simply do not seem to care, although that has not stopped people of all races and groups turning them into...something of a celebrity phenomenon.

Oh yes, the Seven Companions, terrifying foes on the battlefield that they are, are also idolized because...well they're all young, beautiful women. Some enterprising, cheap studios even produced cartoons or cheap movies on them! Yet, the Seven seem to just ignore these things and continue on their business. A job is a job, and what people think doesn't matter just so long as the jobs keep coming.

Name Appearance Role Details
Captain Josephine Leader of the Seven An imposing, strange looking woman, Josephine has led the Companions since their first appearance, years ago. Josephine is human, despite her very, very odd appearances, or at least claims to be. Whether she is for sure can sometimes be hard to determine. Either way she has led the Seven through constant conflicts, and is a shrewd and clever tactician. It is not simple technological superiority that has led the Seven to such acclaim but their knowledge of the battlefield and how to fight, that has led them to outmaneuver their foes time and time again, and at the helm of all these operations, is Captain Josephine. Some wonder if Josephine isn't nobility of some sort, for she seems to know a great deal about the mannerisms and methods of the higher class, and this has led her to get along with even the most pretentious of aristocrats.
Chera Aker Heavy Weapons Expert The Seven don't seem to have a functional hierarchy beyond that Josephine is their leader. Other than that they all seem to be largely equal, with a unique set of skills. All are capable soldiers and pilots, but Chera herself particularly specializes in the application of heavy weaponry. Massive cannons, great beam weapons, artillery and all sorts of things. While most of the Seven know how to use them, Chera has them down to nearly an artform...she also has cursing down to an art form. She is rather crude and loud, and when the Seven attend formal functions, Josephine often...forbids her from attending, due to her rude mannerisms and coarse tongue. Josephine herself is usually referred to as 'sugartits.' Although quite a few people believe that Chera has first hand experience for that name, but well people always do think such things, there's no telling if that's actually true!
Enis Agan Mechanic and Engineer Enis is a very friendly and free member of the group by all accounts. In fact, more often than not she can be found with a girl, guy or two of each hanging on her shoulders during public functions. Enis is the only one that the details of her sex life are known, and that's because she sleeps with so many people. However, besides that, she is the main mechanic of the group. All of them know how to repair and maintain their gear and equipment, but Enis has a far more extensive and in depth knowledge, and many wonder if some of the odder items in the Seven's repertoire wasn't made by her herself. She definitely has created some modifications for their equipment, modifications that have served the Seven quite well in the field.
Kathia Lemoor Medic Kathia is something of an enigma outside of the group. She is friendly, cheerful, upbeat, and yet many people can't help but get the impression that she's kind of a...well, ditz! She seems to trip, spill, or push people accidentally and often in the worst moments, at least for those trying to flirt with her or ask questions. In reality, Kathia's so friendly and cheerful, that she just doesn't have the heart to tell people to 'fuck off' and so she'll often 'accidentally' trip them into a woman's bust, spill wine on them, or all kinds of things. She is also the team medic, well versed in medicine, surgery and all sorts of things. Of course, this knowledge goes to the battlefield in the form of she knows exactly where to hit to hurt the most, even in armor. Why? Well battlefield medicine is important, and so she's also learned how to spot the weak chinks in armor or mecha, where you would most likely cut into to peel away and get at the soft human within for medical attention. One should never relax just because they're facing the doctor.
Nice Diazal Demolitions Expert Nice Explosion! Nice Rack! Nice outfit! Nice Diazel, whose name is actually pronounced 'Nih cheh' hears those jokes literally all the time, including from her comrades. Now while her comrades have earned the right, and she knows they can pronounce her name often, other people often tend to get on her tits, and not in the literal sense that many a man has wanted to. It's not that wise either, Nice knows explosives like the back of her hand, and when the group isn't on the field, she's often the one to man the missile stations of their ship during space battles. She knows all about them, how much to apply of what kind and where to accomplish just about any goal. Oh yes, Nice is definitely not someone to piss off, and thanks to the number of jokes that have caught on thanks to her name, she has been, a tad unfairly, painted as the angry member of the group with an 'explosive' temper.
Sata D'Rani Stealth and infiltration Sata D'Rani is a cool, collected girl, likely of xenos origins, although the blue skin is a bit of a tip off to that. She is often quieter than the others, preferring to sit back and watch while sipping on a beverage. As such not many people know about her, and she's been painted as the 'mysterious' member of the group, well perhaps one of two to be painted that given Josephine's mysterious origins. She is also the stealth expert, and many an opponent has felt the sting of systems and communications failing as the skilled assassin sneaks behind enemy lines and takes out generals, generators, armories, and all other forms of supplies. The others are good at these too naturally, but she is the default unless more than one person is needed for the job.
Stepha Youssez Siege Expert Friendly and Flirtatious, Stepha has been described as a mischeivous tease by the kind, and a blue balling bitch by the drunk. It is very rare that Stepha actually makes anything of her flirting, usually leaving the night alone. It leads some to wonder if she's not in a relationship with one of her comrades in arms, but such is impossible to tell! The Seven rarely talk about their private lives on their ship after all. What is known for certain about Stepha is that she is the siege expert. Citadels, planets, enemy ships, orbital space stations, whatever it is, Stepha has an uncanny knack for figuring out just where to hit, or what procedure or weapon to use to crack it open like a walnut so that the Seven, or their allies in whatever conflict they're in can move in and capture, raze, or whatever the goal of the mission is.

Mecha Name Appearance Capabilities
Escalis Escalis may be one of the reasons why Captain Josephine is considered of some level of nobility. Her mecha, the Escalis, is a magnificent work of engineering and robotics. Elegant and skillful the rapier the Escalis wields has magnificent cutting power, using vibrations it hums at a frequency so fast and high that it has the cutting power to rival even the fanciest of energy or plasma based blades. Its surface is also a durable alloy of carbon nanotubes and steel, adding weight for stability but with remarkable durability on top of that. It is also one of the most fluid mecha around, able to dance, spar, and duel like a fully fleshed and muscled human. Yet, despite this, the Escalis actually lacks any form of ranged attack on its own, and its best defense against range is to use the graphene cape as a shield as the mecha advances on ranged foes. Although usually, Josephine has her comrades to back her up in that regard.
SK-1 Bombardier One of the 'smaller' mecha in the group, this is the premier model of Chera Aker, the heavy weapons specialists, which is...fairly obvious. Not well built for melee combat, the heavy, massive rail cannon on the shoulder leaves it unwieldy at close range, although jets and dash systems leave it well able to disengage. Still, support is very important, is absolutely necessary to her survival, but with good support the SK-1 lives up to its nickname, bombardments of multiple rail rifles firing from the multi-barrel cannon in addition to whatever else the Bombardier is currently equipped with. This weapon can pierce some of the strongest defenses around, and split enemies, strongholds, and ships open with ease.
TL-22 Bushido The mech of Enis the engineer and mechanic, the Bushido holds many hallmarks of her inventive nature. A fast agile mech, the Bushido is one of the lighter models of the group, and more vulnerable to damage and attack, but also perhaps their fastest mech over all. This is why one will rarely see the TL-22 off the move, the only time being when it needs to bring out one of several tools built into the fingers to apply quick emergency repairs to an ally's mech. Other than that, she is darting about, swinging that resonating blade around with great speed, or pecking away at opponents with the rapid fire assault cannon built onto the back of the right hand.
SR-388 One of the oldest designs still in circulation, the SR series has proven itself time and time again on the field of combat, resulting in constant re-releases using more advanced alloys and recently developed electronics and technologies. This is the weapon of Kathia, the medic of the team, who is nonetheless still a capable and ruthless soldier, despite her ditzy facade. The SR is modular, carrying different weapons into battle as needed, be it a heavy assault rifle, a beam cannon, or whatever other weapon Josephine deems is needed to round out the operation. Between that and the powerful heavy duty shield projectors on the shoulder pads, the SR forms a formidable, flexible addition to the group.
VXA Destructor The definite odd one out when it comes to the suits utilized by the Seven Companions. The Destructor belongs to the demolitions Expert, Nice. A strange weapon, which has a very low agility, the Destructor is nonetheless incredibly durable and explosion resistant, which is good. Its main agility comes from the thrusters on its back which let it move up and spin around as needed. Its weapons though are most impressive. On the right arm is a massive, electrically powered plasma cannon, gathering energy and air in the prongs at the tip, before releasing it in a fast moving ball which has a most devestating and heated explosion. While the left arm is a mini-rocket launcher, releasing multiple missiles in a fast moving barrage to pepper the battlefield with a salvo of small explosions to rip apart weaker targets and wear down harder ones.
IAS Infiltrator One can almost immediately guess who the Infiltrator is piloted by, and nine times out of ten they are right. This is the mecha of Sata D'Rani. Fragile, fast, and equipped with a stealth system that removes it from radar, radio, and most scanning technologies, the Infiltrator is a shadow, slipping in over the cover of night, space or even day. Flying over the skies at speed to deliver piercing, sniping shots from the long barreled, sleek laser rifle on the right arm, or slipping behind enemy lines to use the long, folding blade to cut opponents down to size. If one sees the Infiltrator, they should try to focus her down as soon as possible, if one doesn't spot her..then one won't have any worries when they die.
LO-5 Hammer The mecha of the siege specialist Stepha, "The Hammer" is very suited for the task. Tough, sturdy and able to soak up tons of punishment. The piston driven, jet launched hammer it wields can smash through almost any material around, denting, cracking, shattering and prying. When heavier weapons are needed though, the LO-5 can simply carry them into battle with it, usually preferring heavy explosive or piercing weapons keeping in line with the goal of breaking open strongholds and enemy ships. Once again a slower unit, often backed up by the more agile units such as the Escalis, or Bushido.
