Personality

Sera has a rather bright and chipper outlook on life. She’s always thinking of gears, diagrams, or what could be her next big project… often to the point of ignoring a person who’s right in front of her. She’s pleasant enough sure, but after a while one might notice that she talks too much about her work, droning on into the minutia. Or perhaps that she gives no sign of recognizing the emotions or needs of the people around her. Some dismiss it as a quirk, but for most others it becomes a source of annoyance at the very least.

Background

Born to parents who had been told that they'd never be able to have children, she was named Seraphina for being 'their little angel'. Throughout her childhood, Sera as she was nicknamed, was clearly a little… different. She was able to make numbers and concepts dance around however she pleased, consistently placing into advanced math and science courses. However her fellow students were a mystery to her, with the bird lacking social awareness of any kind. She tended to ignore her classmates and focus on her coursework and various personal projects, having no friends whatsoever even as she went into university courses. She graduated in two and a half years with double majors in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, entertaining herself between the grueling course loads by using the campus facilities to craft and experiment. On more than one occasion explosions were involved, and she was nearly expelled from the university for her recklessness.
It was these experiments that caused her to eventually be noticed by Pulsar Incorporated, a company specializing in cutting edge technologies. It was they who offered to keep pay her way both her current student debts, any lingering damages, and fund her education all the way up to a Master’s degree if she did a small amount of intern work for them on the weekends. After she finished her education, it was no surprise that she found a full time position at Pulsar. They saw Seraphina’s spark of genius and decided that it would best be exploited by simply providing her with an overabundance of resources to work with. Their investment has already paid off tenfold as the nerd bird has produced numerous groundbreaking innovations and devices that the company can exploit… just as soon as they figure out how to mass produce them.

TLDR: Bird is smart, socially inept, and makes a lot of strange and wonderful sci-fi toys.
