At the first glance Schtaem ressembles a harpy, though she is far from what could be considered a normal harpy. This girl is a demon that came straight out of the seventh layer of hell, a mischevious bird that's practically always looking for trouble... Or her next meal. Specifically she likes going after a specific sort of sinner... And who might that be? Well, it'd be the very same people who enjoy getting eaten in the first place. In her mind these kinds of souls count as sinners due to them throwing their lives away carelessly, thus making you only an even bigger target for her which might just end up being a good thing in some eyes. This doesn't exclude people that aren't considered sinners though, it's simply a little prefference :)
But how did this demonic harpy end up on earth in the first place? Well it's not too long of a story... Much in harpy fashion she went after many shiny things and well, going after the minotaurs treasure was just a really bad idea. After getting practically beaten into a pulp and casted onto earth she was left to die. That's where a magician would conveniently find the dying demon in a field, the two agreeing on a little contract which would include the magician giving up a part of him to ensure Schtaem's survival. In turn the magician boy would obtain quite a lot of power from her, as well as obtaining the harpy as a (somewhat) loyal servant. Most of her powers seem to be based on steam, something that hasn't been explored just yet.
