Adjective
1. A state of mind characterized by carelessness, brought on by immortality. Having one's head constantly in the clouds, and not worrying about the well being of themselves or others. Oftentimes found very cute, or very ingratiating by others around them.
2. The general state of a yousei's thought process.

Twins are rare in Gensokyo. Yes, yousei happen to look very much the same, but completely identical twins just do not happen. Especially when it comes to yousei, as they literally embody certain aspects of nature. That encourages them to be different from each other, as each aspect of nature is a little different from the last.
So...Why did Satin and Shine become literally twins, aside from a slight color difference? Noone is actually sure of that. They basically are the same embodiment though, except that shine's embodiment happens to be a tad rarer than Satins, giving her more of the smarts between the two of them.
Personality
They aren't complete polar opposites. Both are very sweet and cheerful types for yousei, though they don't have as much of the childishness in them as other yousei, many believing they are on the cusp of 'Daiyousei' or Great Yousei, being more adult in their thoughts at that range.
Satin is the more soft spoken of the two sisters though. Not shy...but more or less the calmer of the two, always sounding a little sleepy and having a smile that would make your heart melt. Everything that she does is done at a calm, careful pace though, never wanting to over-do it. She, unlike most yousei, also has infinite patience. Often times she is the one who is behind her protective sister, trying to keep her from fighting.
Shine, even though she is the 'weaker' of the two, is the perkier of the sisters. Her voice is especially cheery and she is always flying around her sister in an urge to get her moving faster, or trying to do something fun! She does have a short attention span, though, and an even shorter fuse when it comes to someone messing with her sister. Shine is also...horribly forgetful, needing Satin there to help her remember things.
The two are inseparable, though. You'll never find one without the other. They also share -everything- as well, and have no jealousy toward one another in that regard.
Abilities
Green Flash: Though Shine's aspect is very rarely seen in nature, she actually has been able to nurture this power some. She can manipulate any light in the green wavelength because of this, though it does drain her quickly to do so, giving her little more power than a first or second level.
Water Reflection: Satin's ability, though pertaining mostly to water, is the more 'danmaku-friendly'. She can reflect most sources of light and is able to change and manipulate ones reflection as well, if they are looking into water. Coupled with a slight ability to manipulate the water itself, she can be quite a foe, standing at about a second or third level.
Coupled together, they easily become a fourth level boss, or extra-level midboss in strength.
Spell Cards
Shine
Light Sign [~575–525 THz]
Ironically, this is probably the only scientific fact that Shine remembers. Green light falls within ~575–525 THz (Terrahertz), something a very nice magician girl told her once. She isn't sure what that really means, but she thought it would make a neat name for a spell card.
The spell card itself, as you would imagine, is little more than her creating a beam of green light from her hand that reflects of the battlefield, before leaving a wake of green 'light' danmaku that slowly disperses after.
Illusion Sign [Green Flash]
Green flashes are optical phenomena that occur shortly after sunset or before sunrise, when a green spot is visible, usually for no more than a second or two, above the sun, or it may resemble a green ray shooting up from the sunset point.
This card mimics that phenomina with Shine circling herself in a ball of green light and slowly firing out green-colored light balls. It's a mini-timeout that starts off with few shots, but she slowly makes her way from the very top to the very bottom. As she does this, the green light grows bigger...and bigger, releasing more and faster shots. As soon as she reaches the bottom, she's basically enveloped most of the battlefield...but soon runs completely out of energy, ending up exhausting herself!
Satin
Illusion sign [Fata Morgana]
A Fata Morgana is an unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon. Fata Morgana were seen as fairy castles in the air or false land created by witchcraft to lure sailors to their death.
Using the bottommost border of the battlefield, Satin created a fata morgana-like situation, firing reflective shots straight into it that are instantly mimicked and distorted heavily, making it hard to figure out which is real and which is false. Figuring out which is which is key, as dodging them all is next to impossible.
Reflection sign [She smiles from above]
Using her reflective powers, she comes straight in front of her foe, smiling cutely. It is merely a distraction, and a reflection as well. In truth, she is beneath you, sending up swirling water shots from below. You still have to dissipate the smiling reflection to reveal the hidden satin.
Reflection Sign [Double rainbow]
Naturally, because of her aspect, rainbows fall under her manipulative powers, though there is a 'rainbow fairy' out there who can use the power specifically. Nevertheless, she manifests a pair of double rainbows made out of danmaku that slowly cascade down, color by color, before remanifesting as soon as red falls. Each line falls faster than the last
Reflection Sign [Halo]
This is literally a bridge off of the double rainbow sign, but much more deadly. Insted of creating a double rainbow across the entire battlefield, it insted uses the halo phemomina with 'ice crystals' (still water folks) Surrounding it around her foe. Again, the colored shots cascade, but rapidly so, giving the player only a scant chance to dodge through them, before the next halo forms.
