There once was a land far away, populated primarily by a race of dragon people. These people were ruled over by a strict, yet fair king, a rather eccentric queen, and their incredibly laid-back daughter. Sure, the kingdom was still stuck in the medieval age, but it was a peaceful one. Things were calm, quiet, and really, really
BORING. At least, that's how the princess feels. Every minute of every day, she's gotta be fancy, proper, and polite. Wearing dresses all the time really gets old, and nothing exciting happens around the castle, all the suitors that her parents introduce her to are incredibly uninteresting, and they scold her whenever she devours one of them. The nerve!
But the worst part was, according to some stories and rumors she heard, their kingdom was waaaaay behind the times! These places called 'cities' and 'suburbs' had stuff like 'television' and 'video games', and exotic foods like 'pizza'. But sadly, her father is very, very ignorant and refuses to assimilate these things into their society, as he firmly believes that it will 'corrupt their culture'. As much as she protested, his word is law, and she had to deal with it. ...That is, until she got a brilliant idea: run away from home.
Getting out of the kingdom undetected was probably the hardest part, between the guards patrolling 24/7, and the fact that it's incredibly difficult for her to sneak in a princess gown. After almost tripping over the skirt several time, she eventually just ripped it off and continued on her way out, carefully slipping past the patrol and climbing over the gate. Freedom was at last hers!
The journey afterwards was difficult, but manageable. Thankfully she had a little experience hunting for her own food to survive until she made it to civilization, one of the 'cities' she's heard so much about. The buildings were huge, and people were everywhere! In fact, a lot of the people were staring right at her. A young girl with a tail and small horns wearing a torn princess gown and a crown was not a very common sight... After a bit of observing and sightseeing, she realized that she needed something crucial if she was to live there: money, and lots of it. Luckily, she found a place called a 'pawn shop', and was able to get a sizable amount of cash for her crown.
Now that Sakana had some cash, she bought herself a little apartment to live in, a more comfortable set of clothes, and more importantly, some real food to eat! She got herself one of the fabled 'pizzas' to try for the first time, and after the first bite, the rest was gone in seconds! Surely it was a meal crafted by gods! But after a few more pizzas, she was already running low on money. The poor girl needs a job! She still has time to find one before rent is due, thankfully...
But despite money troubles, her new life is great! No more ridiculous rules! No more boring princess duties! And best of all, she can wear shorts and show off her midriff instead of being stuck in an uncomfortable royal dress! Of course, her desertion didn't go unnoticed, and her parents quickly sent a rescue party to track her down. Some of them have turned up in the city, and even got as far as spotting her and following her home. How would she ever avoid getting sent back to her boring kingdom!? ...Well, her parents aren't around to scold her for her more 'predatory' actions...
