This is Ami Mizuno. She’s just a happy academic genius in Tokyo with extra-ordinary powers as a Sailor Senshi! Using her Aqua Crystal, Ami can transform into Sailor Mercury, a powerful being with control over water and ice. In this form Ami may look no more different besides her magical outfit, but she’s vastly stronger than before! Besides her enhanced speed and strength, Ami’s body glows with a natural aura that allows her to deflect other magical attacks far easier than the typical being!
Ami’s favorite weapon of choice is her Icicle Sword, a weapon she can form in her hand not long after becoming Sailor Mercury. While it may look flimsy upon first sight, the edges are as sharp as a steel sword. In addition, the sword is directly connected with Ami’s magic, meaning that it will never break until Ami uses up all of her magical power and runs out of energy! Until then, she’s gonna keep swinging that thing at you and try to cut you up!
She can also use her power to create a mist to hide herself and blur the world around you. This technique is known as her Mercury Aqua Mist. She’ll strike from cover in an attempt to put you down! She can send a barrage of icicles at you, a technique she calls Mercury Shabon Spray. She can do anything in between and she’s constantly thinking up new ideas to use her powers to great effect against the enemy as long as it is within her realm of strength.
History
A long time ago, the Earth was but one of 10 planets making up a grand space empire known as the Silver Millennium. Each of the 10 planets had its own atmosphere, its own gravitational field, its own people, and its own Kingdom. All of the members including all of the planets along the Milky Way were subject to the rule of Queen Serenity, who made her home on the moon orbiting the Earth.
In her past life, Ami Mizuno used to be the Princess of Mercury. She ruled her aqua planet with a hand tempered in wisdom and just reasoning, her people well taken care of as long as she was on the throne. Her armies were well trained, her people well-versed in the fields of technology. And it all stayed that way until the Dark Kingdom invaded. Queen Beryl and her army of monsters swept through planet to planet, wiping out everything in its path. They proved more than a match for the Princess and her armies, glassing the planet clean of all life and forcing the Princess to escape her own home.
The last stand of the Silver Millennium was made in Crystal Tokyo, it’s capital. Just when it seemed like all would be lost, Queen Serenity used a powerful ability that would destroy her own life but at the same time save Ami and the rest of her Princesses. She sent them all into the future. The Princesses would become young children, raised by human parents and never knowing about the noble lineage of their past. They would have a chance to grow up, live a happy life, and perhaps one day discover the root of their magical powers once more.
