Height: 2’6’’.

Background

Fortune, as this prototype later chose to call itself, rolled off a quite short production line in a cobweb covered workshop, stirring to life with little sense of purpose. There were jumbles of spare parts, a few blueprints, and a whole lot of ads promising a line of synthetic bipedal products, lauding their uses in the household as well as for business and recreation. Highly customizable, the Model A was much bigger and capable of a wide variety of tasks and made with luxury features and top grade materials in a variety of shapes. Model B was a slight step down, and so on with C and even the Model D cost about as much as a secondhand car.
But this particular ‘bot knew that he was the Model F. Proof of concept for most of the basic features and had been retooled as the ‘budget’ option for the Series. Only some of this knowledge was immediately apparent to the little robold as he wandered about the place, out into the world, and (through no fault of his own) into a little pawn shop. Still though, it decided to call itself “Fortune”, partially because of the letter F in its model designation, but also because it was quite grateful to the opportunities that it did end up having. After all, if it wasn’t for fortune, then it’d still be a pile of components at the workshop.

Personality

Small, timid, and a little bit servile, this model might put up a bit of token reluctance, but will more often than not submit to most demands made of it if the issue is forced. It does seem to enjoy hiring itself out for odd jobs or short services, collecting the money as well as a few little things to secret away to wherever its small and odd hoard is kept.

Hardware

Chassis Specifications: The RF model is equipped with an Aluminum 1100 skeletal system and an inexpensive plastic covering to help keep out dirt and other unwanted substances. Nothing super durable when it comes to blunt or sharp force trauma, but it can withstand crushing forces with limited deforming and it is surprisingly resistant to acidic or caustic substances.
Backup system: This particular RF is the initial prototype. As such, if it fails a signal is transmitted back to its original assembly line and a replacement chassis rolls off in a matter of hours, a bit confused but in mint condition.

Notable setting information

As far as the robot’s original creator, the story isn’t one that’s known to the world at large. A young and ambitious robotics expert attempted to crowd fund development of a line of domestic synths. When that failed, he turned to shadier sources of funding and spending the entire initial fund just developing a small scale production line that was capable of assembling a simple prototype. When it was found out by his ‘financiers’ that he had ‘squandered’ the considerable fund and had so little to show for it, he was black bagged by some goon squad and has never been heard from or seen since.
