Hm? What's this? A D&D character?

That's correct! Rina the kobold (for the uninitiated, that's a type of small lizard creature), consummate life mage. So, what's she like? What's her story? Let's split that in two, shall we?


The Kobold
Standing 3'2'', this female kobold is actually rather tall by her species' standards, though that doesn't exactly mean a lot. Her body's base is a soft white color, a smooth layer of thin, almost skin-like scales covering her from the short, somewhat broad snout (with small nostrils at either side) down her flat, lightly muscled chest and her small tummy to the underside of her long, gradually tapering tail that droops from her rear.

Her face is a soft thing, two small pointed fangs poking out from her upper jaw in a minor natural overbite, her large light-sensitive navy eyes inset a little in her skull. She has a small row of short blunted horns at the back, and some little soft-backed ears hanging down from her head.

Though she is mostly a single-tone white kobold, Rina's literal blue blood tends to tint her thin scales sometimes, and she has at least a little shading covering her back, the outside of her arms and elegant fingers, down her digitigrade legs and small thick claw-like toes. The upside of her tail, as well, is coated a slight shade of blue that darkens as it reaches the tip.

She weighs in at only ~26 pounds, mostly fit but by no means heavily muscled.


As for her personality... in essence, she's rather no-nonsense, but with the amount of nonsense that often seems to come her way, she's learned to accept and deal with it without too much fuss. She's a rather jaded gal as well, not really depressed or cynical so much as used to being devoured or inconvenienced due to her almost pathetic lack of self-defense and what apparently seems to be, in other monsters' opinions, a very tasty body. She does not worship dragons like most of her kind (being heavily part-dragon herself), and her lack of adequate respect for such has netted her in trouble on a few occasions. She is hopelessly pacifistic as well, with the knowledge that she can heal or even reconstitute her body (as enormous of a pain as it is) she is often more inclined to let herself be abused rather than inflict lasting damage on someone.


The Story
The Uz kobold clan, a clan of surprisingly well-meaning kobolds that strode undauntedly to escape from the evil ways of chromatic dragons and the widespread prejudice against their small, weak, lizardy race, fought bravely for truth, acceptance, and to not get slaughtered by roaming adventurers. To great surprise, they mostly succeeded, but one day, a blue egg speckled with white spots was discovered in the warrens.

What to a clan of average kobolds might be called a blessing of their ancient draconic blood, instead struck fear and unease into the clan. An unhatched kobold with the awakened blood of a white dragon, one of the most needlessly destructive chromatic monsters in existence?? With their tentative acceptance amongst other races, they couldn't afford the risk of harboring a creature that might grow up with old world views and the destructive powers to spread them. They stole away with the egg in the night, leaving it at the doorstep of a monastery and ringing the proverbial doorbell, hoping they could raise it as a monk and teach it not to bother anybody.

The real success of that is a matter of opinion, but this kobold probably ain't gonna be slinging eldritch fury any time soon.
