Maybe that's how I fell to where I am now. See, I run fighting tournaments in The Last Coin, these days. Bit of a step down from where I used to be, but it's much easier to rig the games.
You can always see it in the eyes ... who wants to win the most, I mean. I do my best to make it seem really close, too, but a slip up in latency, milliseconds of delay, and a much stronger opponents is on his back, on the floor, staring up at the ceiling wondering how it all went wrong.

Kaede is a shameless addict of overconfident people. Or, more specifically, getting used by them after a victory, earned or otherwise. Getting throated by someone who's conquered the mountain always brings out the most aggression. But making supposedly fair tournaments her hunting grounds in a desperate bid for her next "prey", someone will likely eventually figure it all out, and punish her for it, assuming her next mark doesn't just use her up utterly.~
