Richard had always hated his parents for their lack of originality in naming him, even more so when he became part of the goth scene around 16. He had always had a rather dark, cynical view of things, even from an early age. He was the one who told his parents that there was no Santa, and that the Easter Bunny was a fraud at the very early age of 4, and every year since then when asked what he wanted for the holidays he would simply answer them with "A healthy dose of realism would suit me just fine."

He never chose to be part of the goth scene, or any scene at all, but his rather unique style and way of acting seemed to get him grouped in with them when he made it into highschool, and that suited him just fine. At least in that crowd he wasn't expected to be one of the happy sunny people holding hands and singing songs like everyone else, and most of the other social groups that he detested left him alone, and none of the others seemed to think the way he dressed was odd, and he actually became rather good friends with most of the others grouped along with him, and got introduced to some really good books.

Despite what most people seem to think when they look at him, he isn't mopey, he doesn't cut himself, and he isn't a "whiny little bitch boy". He'd much sooner face his problems than run from them, and if that means he takes a beating in the process so be it. Though in all fairness he usually gives at least as good as he gets. He's actually a very intellectual person who spends most of his free time in the library and can usually be seen reading a selection of classic literature, though admittedly Poe and Lovecraft are two of his favorite authors.

Richard, Ricky as he's known to his friends and those who like to tease him (he really hates that name and will only let his close friends use it without getting a beating), is actually a very friendly person once you get to know him, despite some of his odder tastes. What are those tastes, you may be asking right now. Well, instead of asking here, why don't you ask him? If he doesn't think you plan on using some of it against him he'll probably tell you.
