About Void Panthers
Nobody knows for certain where void panthers come from, and this could well explain the origin of their name.
What is known for sure is that these dangerous predators possess an array of umpredictable supernatural abilities, first of all the capacity to "blink" (teleport) from one place to another, and that they tend to infest ancient ruins or places where raw magic is more powerful and concentrated.
Most void panthers are lone hunters, but usually they share a wide territory with other individuals of their species, occasionally grouping up to counter dangerous threats - such as groups of adventurers seeking to clear them from the area, or mages or alchemists looking for their precious whiskers.

Void panthers are mostly bipedal, but occasionally resort to quadrupedal stance - and being stealthy hunters they are seen crawling more often than standing up. They tend to be between 8 and 12 feet tall, with most individuals being around 9'6'', and are renowned for the great strenght, agiity and speed. They possess fearsome fangs and sharp retractile claws, and a very long tongue. Their tail is strong and dexterous enough to coil and hold human-sized creatures and even to lift them from the ground, and the carapace covering part of their bodies can stop even the sharpest blades.

Aside from their physical abilities, void panthers possess several nasty powers. First of all, their ability to teleport; it normally works only on relatively short distances (a few hundred meters), but it can also be used to cover immense lapses of space if there's something to work as a 'beacon'for the creature - which might be a pack of other panthers, for example, or a strong magical source.
The void panther is also able to 'shroud', making its presence more difficult to be perceived and increasing its stealthiness. This isn't lik invisibility in the slightest, but makes the creature to appear more 'blurred' and less defined, and harder to spot when it's already hiding in darkness and/or cover.
Another notable ability is their magic-altering aura, that seems to make spells more umpredictable, and generally less effective, against these creatures...

It must be noted that void panthers are highly intelligent predators, cunning and even malicious, and many specimens seem to be even capable of speech - and to be pretty good at it, too, to the point this ability is believed to be moe related to their magic affinity than to an evolutionary trait. They seem capable of handling and using tools, although they don't use weapons, clothing or armor and mostly live in the wilderness, without the need to build shelters.
