Ramble

It could have all started when you were wandering through an antique store and found the old, finely crafted toy. Or you could have been the heir to the creator's property and things following their death of old age. Heck, you could of even found the toy in a yard sale without the owner having known what they had.

It was to be the pinnacle of an old toy maker's career, something that would make his name known throughout the lands as the most amazing toy and use of magic. He was a brilliant crafter of metal, had spent years as a watchmaker which aided in the internal workings, and then he dabbled in mystic arts to find a way of permanently empowering his special toys to always be alive.. Sort of.

He managed to make three of these unique toys, and halfway finished with a fourth before he finally passed in his old age. His legacy is left with the dolls he had created, fully autonomous figurines that show a remarkable amount of intelligence for a play thing. ( Remember, intelligent for a toy. Compared to even a human child.. They are as dumb as a rock. ) Although of metal, they each feel as soft as human skin, their hair so silky and smooth, and a facial design filled with many expressions. Having combined all of his talents, the creator had managed to make such wondrous, seemingly living toys, however he wasn't perfect at any of his skills. As a result, his creations are with limitless energy but with the drawback that they need to be wound up to remain active and mobile. Without the turn of the keys in their backs, they would forever be aware but still. Locked in place and unable to move or 'live' beyond being an observer.

And so these dolls spend their lives turning each other's keys, unless seperated from each other or broken through accidents. But the question lies, what would you do if you had one?

This is a customizable character, you define how you want the doll to appear, or I'll write it up myself. The size can be variable, as well as any apparent 'age' you want the doll to have. Heck, I could even play all three of the dolls if really wanted! As for what you can do with them, that is entirely left open. Do anything! Play with them, bust them apart, experiment on them, use them as cleverly disguised guards, etc. Possibilities are limited only by imagination!
