It's not easy, being a nerd. There's assumptions, really, about any nerd out there. Lots of them, in fact. It can make things difficult, when people assume things about you, and even more difficult when they assume things incorrectly.

Rachel, though, is assuredly a nerd. All of sixteen years old(her birthday was last week!) and subject to that most irritating of pressure systems: High School. She's never been part of the in crowd, but the other kids don't really know how to deal with her. To the nerds, she's a bit indimidating (because, you know, she's a cute girl who's into nerdy things) and to the in crowd, well, she just... doesn't match. She's into tabletop RPGs and video games, after all! But for all that, she's a quiet, bookish, and largely unobtrusive sort who doesn't prefer to draw attention to herself.

Which doesn't mean she's shy. Which doesn't mean, in fact, that she can't take care of herself. The last bully to try to mess with her got pretty badly hurt. Rachel may be quiet, but she's no shrinking violet. When roused, she's a veritable font of ridicule as she smacks down the object of her ire. She's stronger than she looks, and sturdier too. Kind of weird, right?

Of course, having looked at that pic up there, you can see the reason why. Not that she knows a thing about her heritage,yet. She'll learn, one way or another, and it'll be interesting when she does, too.

Oh, and if it matters she's only 5'3".
