"Oh I won't hurt you at all...says the spider to the fly~"

Rachel is an...interesting individual. An arachne like any other, human upper body, and spider lower body, where the head of the spider should be emerges a human woman complete from ass up to head, and where her legs should be is an almost complete spider body, with the shiny black abdomen engraved with a skull. Yet her human body is not...completely human. She has six red eyes, with no iris or pupil to speak of, although they can blink, and her arms, well those aren't just gloves in that pretty little portrait, about half past the elbows her skin turns into the same glossy black chitin that comprises her carapace, the fingers slightly knobbed at the joints. Her hands have to be covered in the carapace in order to properly handle her own smooth, silk. She strikes a rather lovely figure, although if she wishes, it can also be quite the terrifying picture, just depends on whether she wants you to love her, or run in fear from her.

So just who is Rachel? Well she's a lovely little female who is just out to see that she has the best life she could desire...no matter who she has to eat to get that. She doesn't need power, nor particularly massive amounts of money, just enough of each to get what she wants. What she wants though can change from moment to moment, but typically it's a nice stable place to settle down, spin her webs, and lure in poor innocent flies to devour and use as incubators for her young. That is the fate of most people who encounter Rachel, for she doesn't see most people as 'people' but flies. Flies is her catch all term for anything that she thinks she can eat, humans, elves, dragons, lamia, it takes a tough sort to keep her from eating them. Yet if they manage or find some other means to sway her, such as offering themselves as a pet or a servant, or just proving to be likable in a way that seems to change depending on Rachel's mood, she might spare them, even if that does mean a life spent carrying some of her eggs in their gut more often than not.

That's just how it works with Rachel, if she likes you, she fills you with eggs, if she doesn't like you, she eats you. It makes knowing her a tough time really if one isn't prepared for one of those options. Yet there is a third thing she does, which is rather different from both, although close to using your body as an incubator. Mating, or breeding, she uses both terms as she pleases, is when you are an actual parent, whether she uses her actual shaft rather than her ovipositor to impregnate you, or lets you actually screw her if you're properly equipped, the result is that you're an actual parent rather than a glorified egg sac. In these cases you've risen to the highest level it is possible to rise, without outright dominating Rachel herself (no easy task under any circumstances.) You're officially a mate, an equal, a friend, and even a lover, just...don't expect her to stay loyal to just you...or to change how she behaves.

It's not actually uncommon for Rachel to be seen in public, but not often either. The arachne makes a rather good living selling the items she makes with her silk. The tapestries, the clothing, and so on and so forth. More often than not she'll have a proxy or agent to deal with the business end of things for her. Someone she can trust, or who is completely enthralled to her so that she can just stay in her home and enjoy herself, and the flies trapped in her webs. It actually gets her a lot of money, and many people often vie for the right to say they own a 'Hurenkind Tapestry.'

A common home for Rachel is some form of manor or mansion, it might be run down when she first moves in, but it won't be for long. She'll fix it up quickly and from there will start exporting fine, super strong silk, clothing that'd never tear and such, but her favorite thing to weave her silk into whether for her own home's decoration or for sale, are tapestries, great silk tapestries with complex patterns wove into the silk, truly beautiful things to hang upon walls in rooms and hallways.
