News & Announcements: Quetz will soon become the pet of GhostDragon who has been his beloved friend for a long time now, and he is actually very much looking forward to this new kind of relation between him and the friendly - if a bit gluttonous ;) - dragon.
Update: As of 30/04/2008, Quetzy got his collar from Ghostie and he is wearing it proudly! Detailed description to come!
Quetzaltlipoca is a gryphon, and a very odd breed at that. Normally when someone hears the word 'gryphon', 'griffin' or 'griffon', they start thinking of creatures that look like odd beings that have the beaked head, chest, wings, legs and talons of an eagle and the hindquarters of a lion. In this case, however, this 'mix' is quite a bit different, namely Quetz is a gryphon with the fore-body of a golden-headed quetzal and the spotty haunches of a smaller feline, a jaguar to be precise.
Being such a strange kind of a gryphon, he is smaller than most of the other birdycats around, standing only 3 feet and 7 inches measured up to his shoulders and his length 5 feet and 7 inches with the addition of a tail which is 2 feet and 6 inches long. Since he is this small, he would likely be considered as 'food' for other critters, although he always refuses being called such. Unfortunately for him that's hardly enough to make predators to change their minds about him and his appearence, appealing as it is, hardly helps this matter. His soft, plush like plumage is colourful, adopted to the rain forests of South-America rather than the natural environment of the park, so he is not at all difficult to spot, usually sunbathing or relaxing in a tree, probably munching on some fruits. His main colours are th golden brown of his head, eartufts tipped with white, the emerald green of his chest, neck and the top of his wings, and of course the crimson of his belly feathers and the underside of his wings. His eyes are black and look intelligent, gleaming with interest at just about anything he spots and his foreclaws are small, suitable for getting hold of branches but definitely not designed for fighting. The rest of his body, the jaguar hindquarters don't look any different than the rear of a normal jaguar, golden yellow with black spots and this shade turns into a very soft creamy colour at his belly, his tailtip is black-furred.
Some about his personality, background and abilities. First and most importantly of all, Quetz is a very trusting gryph. He would approach anyone he doesn't know, walk up to them only to say hello - and probably gobbled up, although that's usually not among his own plans -, no matter how stupid the idea would look like to people who actually make sense. Also, he can be quite playful and as such he might pounce even predators, start playing with their tails without realising who do they belong to, and so on. He might start bugging people using various methods from squawking at them to simply hopping before them from a branch above. He doesn't eat meat, only fruits and if someone knows his favourites and offers such treats for just about anything, he might be happily follow them even into dangerous situations. Such a perfect way for tricking him and catch him off-guard, isn't it? He is an aztec gryph, his name came from the word 'quetzalii', which means 'precious feathers' and 'tlipoca', which is the second half of the name of the jaguar god, 'Tezcatlipoca', also known as the Smoking Mirror. He respects life above all else, but he is not ignorant and he is well aware how every creature must eat - even if he would never allow himself to be called a snack willingly, definitely not for strangers at least - and he knows peaceful co-existance is rare between so many different species so agressive encounters might happen. He doesn't have any peculiar abilities, there is only two and one of them is fairly common, he can reform. Currently this means that after being eaten or killed his spirit would return to his homeland where he would be resurrected by their priests. Technically this means it's possible he won't be seen around for a while. The second one is harder to explain as it's not an explicitly developed ability, just something he likes to use to 'show off'. Using it generally means he gets a lot braver, his tone becomes more characteristic and it would seem to anyone he actually grows a feet or so when he gets angry enough to resort to it. He doesn't become physically stronger however and if the creature he is trying to use it on decides to attack him would probably have an easy time tackling the small birdycat.
As you might have guessed from the description above and the preferences below, Quetzaltlipoca is a prey character and only that. I might make special exceptions with people I like if their character is small enough or if I'm in an odd mood. When I use Quetz (main character is Varenx), I'm in preyish mood and that's it. I won't eat anyone, so please, don't even bother asking unless you're a good friend of mine. If, however, you are a pred and would like to have a gryphon for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper or whatever meal you can come up with, by all means drop me a line and tell me you're interested in playing with this birdycat. When here, I'm usually available for roleplaying, although I must warn anyone who approach me, I can be picky about my roleplay partners. Let's see... most important things are: Decent amount of detail (not necessarily walls of text, as long as your poses have enough real content, that's fine with me), good grammar and spelling (I don't bite for typos or grammatical mistakes, but if you can't put one sentence together without having a dozen mistakes in it, please don't waste your and my time trying to get a roleplay from me), enough time to have a good scene (I know, real life happens, there are times I can't stay until the scene is finished but I won't start playing with anyone when I'm certain I will have to leave for work in 30 minutes) and some patience as I'm not a fast poster. Never was, never going to be. I'm not a fast typist and there are times I simply can't keep the chat window open because kids might flutter about and I'd rather not let them see what I'm chatting about with people. When I play I do my best to minimise such disturbances but it sometimes isn't enough, I apologise for that in advance. I might refuse roleplaying if I don't like your character, species, general look, anything. Don't take it to the heart as it's nothing personal, such things are very important to me, mostly probably species. Now, a brief explanation of the preferences. I will ABSOLUTELY NOT play scenes involving scat, watersports, sex, non-usual (as in, non-oral) vore. This rule is number one. I might violate the rest of them depending on my mood and how much I like my (future) roleplay partner but these rules are set in stone for me, kindly respect them as I will do respect any of your preferences as well. Anything else however I'm quite flexible about (apart from pred/prey, see above), so hard and soft vore, torture, plucking, cooking, blood, dismemberment, digestion (graphic or not), food related, almost anything works. When in doubt, just ask. If you play nicely and don't try bullying me into scenes I refuse to do I'm sure we can play something we would enjoy.
