Parallel processing, secure communication, AI are just some of the possible applications of quantum computing, and prototypes are being elaborated in a high-security research lab. Until one year ago, the Quantum Leap lab was just a high level research facility, but after a serious accident, in which several employees went missing, the whole facility went under military control.
Truth was, the experiments went far beyond expectations, opening a portal leading to another world, a world populated by dangerous, hostile creatures, and where the physical laws seems to be different.
Unfortunately, the physicist who was directing the research was one of the victim in the first accident, and without him, experimentation was suspended for more than a year. Also, several attempts of sabotage has been reported, and some other scientists disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Espionage? Sabotage? No one was able to tell. But, despite all the troubles, finally the portal has been opened again.
During one test, they met Miasma and, after hearing of her past involvement with Edward Walker, she had been put under arrest, and held.
Using the technology recovered during one missions, a woman named Acadia tried to induce some changes in her body, but the experiment went out of control.
