Princess Sapphire is the heir to the kingdom of Silverland, born with the "heart" of both a girl and a boy due to a mistake. However, only a boy can inherit the throne, so she must pretend to be a boy the whole time. The evil Duke Duralumin seeks to steal the throne, and Satan wants to steal her soul and give it to his daughter.
