PreyGirl

(Okay! So this might be a bit rough at first, sort of doing a ground-up rework of this profile to get going again. Literal years since I've logged on and played. :3)

It was years since Sierra first found the strange world she was in. Going from a seemingly normal and average life to one of live-or-die at the whims of creatures of all shapes and sizes and levels of intelligence that seemed intent on placing her body in their gullet. However, before long she discovered two important facts - two facts that were going to change her life forever.

The first, was that for some reason, she never seemed to permanently be destroyed or killed upon being eaten. While she lacked any sort of solid memory of what had happened to her after the beginning of her latest 'meal,' as it were, an all too familiar headache and lack of clothes let her figure out what happened.

The second, was that she loved being eaten.

Just something about the helplessness of it, the intimacy of being slid down into one's gullet or tail or tendril or pod, and her relative assurance of her safety... it was starting to make her attracted to the idea.

So she came up with an idea. A somewhat insidious one, if she did say so herself. A way to sort of present herself to various predators and predatory locations with impunity, all while perhaps lying to herself about simply wanting to do it for the sake of being eaten. The idea was simplicity itself, really. A cookbook. A mix of stories and recipes of sorts, tales of being eaten and how, with small parts dedicated to the specifics of it and why the predator decided to do it. Unless they didn't want to tell her, in which case... well, then she got to get eaten. Win win for the girl.

So she let herself be eaten. Devoured by creatures large and small, humanoid and bestial, sapient and feral, animal and plant. All in the false guise of learning more, when in truth she simply got off on it all.

The following is a small excerpt from young author Sierra Gambridge's upcoming autbiographical work, Acceptance and Empowerment: Getting Through Life as Prey, slated to be the introduction. Ms. Gambridge has provided it to us as part of a promotion for her work.

We're food.

I want to make that abundantly clear right now. At the end of the day, we are food, nutrition, delicacies, meals, meat, however you want to slice it (I ask you forgive the pun), at the end of the day, we're food. Predators eat us. If you can't accept that, or if you deny it or believe I'm wrong, return this book for a full refund. Or put it back on the shelf. Or back in the garbage, I don't know how popular this book will be. I won't hold it against you, I promise.

Still here? Okay.

You might have expected a lot of different things when you picked this up. You might have expected an angry book ranting about the injustices against prey. You might have expected me to tell my story and want pity, want you to feel bad for little old me. You might have expected me to hate everyone and everything for what keeps being done to me.

If you did, you were wrong. If you want to return the book to your local bookstore/library/trashcan, go ahead. I won't hold it against you folks, either.

What this book is about, is two things, as my title stated. Acceptance and empowerment. The fact is, as I opened with, we are food. That's the end of the story. We have to accept that fact if we want to get anywhere in this world we're forced to live in. If we thrash our arms and deny we're just food, it's not going to stop us from being devoured. It certainly hasn't stopped my predators, not one single time. All the tears in the world won't work.

They usually remark how they add salty flavoring, anyway.

In order to become strong, we have to admit that we are food. That we are the nourishment and sustenance of the predators out there in the world. We have no other purpose, no other existence, we are food.

And they need us.

There's a reason for the hunt. A reason for the fact that they work so, so very hard to get us, and go to such great lengths (some at least) to make sure we are suitable for them. Because they need us for food, for energy, for their very lives. We need to take that into us and remember it, that every time we are eaten, it is because they need us. Through this we can get strength, broker deals, make offers, and possibly even receive something for the trouble of our devourment.

Of course, there will be those who hunt for sport and eat for gluttony. There will always be. I speak of most predators in general though, that do it, while enjoyable, out of a basic need for food and cessation of their hunger. This is acceptance. The first step towards taking control of your life as prey, is to accept that is what you are, and move on from there.

That's what this book is going to be about. It's going to be about learning what it really means to be prey. Your place in life, your location in the food chain. How you can take that and make it your own. What you can do to make it better, or as some claim, to even enjoy being devoured by predators. I'll include many things, personal stories, interviews, methods of reformation, and even a few recipes for the adventurous. It's about life, and living it, rather than being forced through it.

This is your last chance. If you break the seal on the next page and go forth and read this, you can't return it! Unless, you know, it totally flopped and you got this out of a trash can. In which case... um... it'll come to life and eat YOU! That's right! It totally will. So, you know, don't tempt it. >:3

Yeah, I totally put an emoticon in a published book. See you on the next page if you want more...

The book's next section will come with a special factory seal, so that if the reader does not enjoy what they read, disagrees, or feel it is a waste of their money, they are free to return it to the bookstore of its purchase with receipt for a full refund. Ms. Gamebridge stated that she "wants to send a message, but not waste people's money that don't agree with her. That's just mean."

The book's release date is still in the works, but notes from the publisher indicate that more excerpts will be made available over time.
