Most would look upon the wolfess dubbed Powaqa and see no more than a wild animal. Perhaps they would think first of what threat she might pose, how they might escape or confront her... few would notice that there is something different about her. A fellow wolf might better see her more dominant characteristics. Aside from sheer size, she carries herself in a strong, straight-legged gait, and is stern and fierce of eye as well as scent. She makes it known to all the she is the Alpha. But even a fellow wolf would not easily identify her true nature.
As intelligent as any human, Powaqa has spent enough time in the midst of civilization to learn language for herself, and they ways of life beyond the woods. While her pronunciation needs work, she possesses the vocal cords necessary to make herself understood. Where she got such an ability, there are only rumours to explain. Some say it is mutation, evolution, whereas there are those who insist she is in possession of magical powers... blessed by whatever god they might believe in... or perhaps cursed by demons. Such supernatural theories would do well to explain the even more unexplainable about her.
Whatever it may be that gives her such talents, there is no doubt that certain abilities she has are beyond known science. Her dark, golden eyes see in the world something beyond the perception of any ordinary creature. Anyone looking into them risks thier very existence as they know it. All things spiritual are perhaps the best way to describe what it is she sees that others do not. With enough practise and understanding, she has come to learn how to manipulate these energies to her will merely at a glance. A long enough stare into your eyes can have all kinds of unpredictable effects... you might shrink suddenly to the size of her paw, you might find your body twisted and transformed where you stand. You may even drop dead on the spot. When threatened, her piercing howls can have similarly unpredictable effects, but much more on the psychological side of things. From fearful insanity to simple deafness, whatever serves the she-wolf's purposes.
Scent is a hugely important sense for any wolf, and interacting with her, it will be for you as well. A perfume hovering about her body tends to have intoxicating effect on those of any gender, especially when she deliberately gives off the musk of being in heat. It doesn't matter if they are not a wolf. Whether it is sex or mere submission she desires of others, she usually gets it.
The most feared and least believed aspect of her points strongest to her being of spiritual origin. The souls of other beings are as clear in her eyes as their face. Should she kill someone, she might choose to manipulate what she sees, and bring them back to mortal life. Other times she may leave them to die, and let their soul ascend to whatever afterlife is deserving of them. If not, she may absorb the soul into herself, making it a part of her, forever locking her victim as a part of her - unless she another day changes her mind. It all depends.
Behaviour:
Powaqa is a wolf foremost. She may be intelligent and knowledgeable of the ways of civilization, but she will never abandon her true nature. That said, she is neither merciless nor without emotion. She is quite capable of feeling what most would consider more human emotions, and keeping conversation can be as fruitful as with anyone else. She has gone many places, seen many things, she is wise and experienced. Those she cares for are under her undying protection, and they do not have to be a wolf for her to feel this way.
On the other hand, she is an angry creature. She looks upon society with contempt, and will never obey anything that resembles a command. Her Alpha status is not something she takes lightly. Domestication is the worst fate she can imagine. Which may come as a surprise to some who know her, for she can be as loving and playful as a family dog, among those she respects. Should someone ever lose her respect, she will usually see to it that they are destroyed.
One of the most changing things she has learned about in her time away from her own, is the concept of pleasure. She has embraced it to its fullest, taking great enjoyment out of sex, food, and killing, even when it is not necessary for survival. Whenever it is possible to take these things without consequence, she will pursue them. It is even within her consideration to enslave those she especially enjoys satisfying herself with, making them her own pet. A turnaround she finds pleasing in its justice.
When it comes to eating and killing, she is creative. While she is more than happy to disembowel like any wolf, she enjoys just as much consuming those she desires in any other ways she can dream up. She enjoys swallowing them whole, to the fullest extent of her ability to stretch or when they are very small, and she is not afraid to consume others with other parts of her body as well. Just because she is in possession of power beyond normal, it does not mean she will resort to it, especially when sheer force will grant her what she wants just as well. When it comes to reforming, she can do it to others if she pleases, but it often satisfies her instincts more to know that her victim is dead with no chance of return. It depends on her opinion of the meal, and whether she would wish to have it again.
Quick History:
Powaqa was born a wolf. She has always been a wolf, she was raised among other wolves, she has lived years hunting to survive and that has never changed. While her parents were wolves as she, from the beginning her unique nature would have been apparent. At first, it manifested as no more than easily climbing to the top of the pack hierarchy, becoming Alpha female before maturity. She continued to defy the conventions of wolven life by venturing from her pack to learn of her surroundings. Buildings, vehicles, society - they intrigued her. She wished for life beyond the woods, and slowly over time she taught herself how she might go about tasting of it.
Initially, her efforts to explore the world beyond the wild disgusted her. So many creatures, so wasteful, so disloyal, so inefficient and materialistic. Her first instinct was to destroy all she came across... but over time she took more liking to the ways of the civilized. She learned how it felt to indulge herself when it was not necessary, and she learned of the unique brand of affection that these other species were capable of. And if all else failed, she learned of the pleasures a diverse diet and sexual history bring.
While she violently opposes the idea of being governed or obeying, she enjoys her steps out of more feral life and divides her existence freely between the two. The streets of cities and towns are just as rich and interesting places as the deepest of woods, where naught but her stirs. She is not torn between the two lifestyles, for she borrows from each to shape herself as she sees fit, enjoying what each can provide her and shunning what she despises among both.
