Conjurer, Alchemist, Acolyte; as a wizard hailing from The Divide, Planan carries on Magick’s eons long tradition of esotericism and transcendental aspirations. After being found abandoned at the foot of his monestary, the wizards and sages took him in and raised the genie-blood as one of their own. Long have those steeped in its practice and rituals, safeguarded potentially calamitous artifacts and incantations. It was only a matter of time until someone unqualified would happen across one. The Grimoire Obscura was one of these misplaced items, formerly sequestered deep within a sorcerous safe, the subject of mere myth and legend even to the most devout Dividers. However while Master O'neil was away on a matter of arduous academic intrigue, his apprentice took to wandering where he shouldn’t. Being a half-genie, Planan was a naturally talented burglar. After he conquered the lock with relative ease, he plucked his plunder and flipped through its pages with curious haste. A choice he would promptly come to regret. The lad in his entirety was strewn across infinite dimensions, his presence spread out through reality’s many lenses and layers. When the world once again came into focus, the impossible geometry of the portal a fleeting, nightmarish memory, nothing looked familiar. Like an unwieldy and heavy weapon, the knowledge given by the Grimoire proved both dangerous and uncontrollable. Stranded in the strangest of lands, Planan wasn’t overcome with wistful longing or imperiled panic. Instead he tries to take his haphazard dimension hopping as a once-in-a-lifetime research opportunity. When he returns to The Divide, if he returns, he’s certain he’ll be hailed as a hero by his peers. "Hangerson" The Tulpa are a parasitic hive mind making home in the heart of the greater basin region of The Divide. While virtually unknown to outsiders, it is common knowledge among the wizards who commune with them. The long kept secret of The Divide and the reason for the wizards' affinity for magic, is a mutualistic relationship between them and the Tulpa. With bodies totally comprising wisps of raw mana, the Tulpa typically entered the bloodstream via surgical incision before bonding to a host’s nervous system. Through this relationship, the Tulpa could gather information about their surroundings as well as nutrients from host bodies rather than through autotrophy. The wizards then, gain greater control of their magic and the capacity to perform greater feats. The bonding of a wizard host to the Tulpa is a sacred ritual among their ranks. Further, the bond formed between a wizard and their unique aspect of the Tulpa, has deep social significance for both parties involved. It is not uncommon for one to liken their infestation to family, a romantic partner, or even an extension of one's own mind. Milk_Alts made another wizard. |
