Pilot_Sigma

If you're listening to this recording, then I'm definitely dead. My mech had gotten severely damaged in my last sortie and I needed the funds to fix it, and as luck would have it there was a fighting arena advertising a huge payout for winners, the Dogshit_Arena. However, the dog who runs the place, Miksa, plays for keeps. He's the champion, sets all the rules, and makes sure that losers can't come back afterwards. That's why I'm making this message, because if I lose, then he's going to digest me, body and soul. If I somehow survive him and get the prize, I'll delete this recording, if not... well, don't bother looking for me or try to bring me back, dog shit doesn't get an afterlife.

I'm one of many mercenaries with a big stompy robot, trying to make a living on the outskirts of the city. You won't find a bigger melting pot of species and cultures anywhere else, there's always work to be done, and being in a mech does mean I can take on bigger jobs than without, but it does put smaller jobs off the table. Really good for when a client needs something blown up, or kept from being blown up.

When I'm not out working, I usually just play computer games to relax and unwind, tinker around on my machine, or build scale models. Call me a nerd all you want, it's how I got to where I am today!

I haven't really had much luck in the romance department, it's really hard to get a good guy to date when your business is violence. It also doesn't help that I've mostly been interested in guys of other species, which just makes things even more complicated than it needs to be.

Mech: My pride and joy, and what insures I can pay the bills. I racked up a lot of debt in the initial purchase, and over the years it's become a real Ship of Theseus, but I've loved every second of it. Wouldn't change careers for anything at this point!

Cybernetics: Haven't had a good reason to hack off limbs and replace them with high-performance machinery yet, so the only bit of hardware I've got installed is the neural mesh that allows for easy brain-to comuter interfacing with my mech. It's a lot more portable and versatile than a bulky neurohelmet would be, even though the surgery was really expensive. Wetware is a bit more extensive though, got to have the durability to handle accelerations that would flatten most humans and extra endurance for extended combat.

Mercenary Work: My primary source of income. Industrial sabotage, intercepting cargo, assassination, escort duty and more than I can care to list out. Being in the cockpit of a 10 meter tall mech does limit the kinds of jobs I can do, but the ones I get always pay well. Which is good, ammo and maintenance cost rack up quickly.

Magic: The manipulation of ether to produce tangible effects, a great asset no matter your line of work. For me, it's incredibly useful in combat and utility, doubly so when I can take advantage of the large Ether Modifier on my mech and boost the power exponentially.

Interspecies: There's so many species out there, and so little time to enjoy them all. From wolves to kobolds, dragons to whales, deer to moose, there's just so many to choose from! I just hope they'd even want a human like me, I know most of them just find us plain and boring.

Vore: It's really risky having this kind of fetish in my line of work, you meet a whole lot of predators in the mercenary business, all of them really attractive. So the furthest I've ever gone is anonymous VR experiences, I'm not sure how much I should risk doing the real deal... it might be the last thing I ever do if I choose the wrong predator. Reformation: The phrase 'I can't fix dead' has been a bit obsolete for a while, but fixing death still has a price. The more money you are willing to spend, the more connections you have, or the more invasive the procedure you're willing to get all increase how hard it is to stay dead. For the average person, dead is still dead, and even for the richest there are still ways to die for good if someone puts in a bit of effort. I'm lucky to have access to the kind I do, even if there are risks of complications and a hefty up front cost.

Modern Alt: In a world without cybernetics or mechs, or maybe even magic, dreams of piloting giant robots remain in the realm of fantasy. The only way to fulfill them being video games, shows, and scale plastic models while working a regular 9 to 5 job... or something not quite legal. At the very least, there are still lots of species to choose from.

Logs:

I was unwinding at a space station's dive bar when Snuff_Mouse approached me, and it took less than a minute for the cute rodent to entice me into becoming mouse food. I got stripped naked before Arthur lured me into the private rooms in the back, and after a bit of final sex he wasted no time gulping me down to be churned into more mousebutt. It only took Arthur a few hours to completely digest me in his sleep, and he dumped what was left into the station's waste management system in the morning. After about a week, my company dug my remains out of the septic tank and grew me a new body. TEMPVORED, 1/10/24 - 1/18/24
