Backstory

Marina is an octarian who was controlled by DJ Octario. After the events of Splatoon 1, Marina was one of the Octarians who were freed from their mind control!
Originally, Marina had been raised to build things, traps, rooms, stages, you know it! She was very good at it too and it is one reason she builds splatfest arenas to this day! Its a hobby. Anyway, after regaining her mind, Marina made her way to Inkopolis, seeking refuge and giving herself to the inkling authorities.
There were months of trials, psych tests and others forms of evaluation before peace was achieved and Marina became an Inkopolis citizen. Fate had another turn for her however, as while she was headed home, she was humming a song and an inkling known as Pearl heard her. The two got to talking and became best friends! Not long after, both were hired for their daily talk show "Off the Hook"!
In her free time, Marina enjoyed playing with music. She would remix, create new tunes and just had fun, leading to a partial career as a DJ as well! Her handle is DJ Hyperfresh!


How is she in the Nexus? The same way as everyone else! After the last Splatfest, Marina was splatted and her reformed soul somehow made its way into the Nexus City!
