Spiritkin
Spiritkin are beings that are similar to ghosts or phantoms. They're primarily made up of magical energy of varying types that coalesced into one spot, typically over a deceased animal, to form a weak Spiritkin. Spiritkin come in varying shapes and sizes, big or small, cute or scary, and so on. They typically also form to have partial animal features, one can have cat, dog, fox, rabbit, dragon, lizard, mouse, and many more. While researchers speculate that Spiritkin copy the animal that they formed near, observed cases have shown no such proof. Nuiroka was formed near the grave of a rabbit, one of many documented cases where the formed Spiritkin had nothing to do with what they formed near.
Spiritkin do not form as a humanoid shape right away, they typically start as a flame of varying color with a rather cute face. Said color typically correlates with the most dominant magical energy, Nuiroka having formed as a dark purple flame with cat-like features. Once a Spiritkin forms, they begin to search for more energy to make a whole body with, one could call this a "growth" phase. A Spiritkin can get energy from most things, including simply wandering, though they typically attack humanoids for their high density of magical essence. While young Spiritkin are weak, they can still do significant harm to or even kill unaware humanoids. Spiritkin however are also popular for taming due to their initial cute appearance and eventual growth into a potentially strong warrior or support.
The animal a Spiritkin takes as their form typically dictates their role or roles in combat, however the Spiritkin does not need to follow their role. It is merely an observation that researchers have collectively found enough data to conclude this is the most common roles as follows:
Canines (Dogs/Wolves) are typically well versed in protective skills and all the while also doing well at dealing damage. They tend to be a good well rounded Spiritkin.
Felines (Cats) excel in dealing quick bursts of damage and plentiful ailments along with their high evasion and critical chance makes them a glass cannon but a powerful combatant if left unchecked.
Foxes specialize in having a myriad of supportive abilities. Debuffs, buffs and healing makes them a great all around supportive ally and an annoyance to deal with if on the oppsoppsing side.
Events
Nuiroka encountered Mousse_ on 11/19/23, and the little cat got just a little too close to the Spiritkin Cat... she even called him cute and sweet and all, which just isn't his style! To punish her, Nuiroka snatched her up and swallowed her down, and now she's being kept as belly filler for 13 days~
